So last night the boys and I were tossing back some brewskiez and having an orgy.

Well, we were playing Horde mode on Gears 2. Either way, we were talking about UFC 91, Randy and Brock. I brought it up, do you think this could be good for Affliction and other events? Can you imagine, the face of the UFC being Brock Lesnar? Granted he would get stopped by either Mir or Nogueira, but could you imagine the several months in which the UFC would lose fans? Sorry, but I'm not watching a Heavyweight division with an ex-WWE Wrestling Champion leading it.

IMO it makes Affliction look that much better, seeing how the UFC gives the title back to Couture after him wanting more money and leaving. And on top of that, they're giving a title shot to an arrogant, over celebratory, stub ****ed fat kid who has yet to prove himself.

Let's compare the headliners of each corporation's Heavyweight Division??

Brock Lesnar:

2-1? Check.
Has been stopped? Check.
Boastful? Check.
Sore Loser? Check.
Has done 'roids? Check.
Mentally weak? Check.

vs

Fedor Emelianenko:

29-1? Check.
Has never been stopped? Check.
Humble? Check.
Defeated many greats? Check.
Hasn't lost in nearly 9 years? Check.
Proven Skill? Check.
Mentally tough? Check.
Stand Up skills? Check.
Submission Skills? Check.

Which company looks better now in the Heavyweight division? No brainer.

Won't matter.

In the past nearly 10 years the UFC has only had the best heavyweight division for a couple months when they had Arlovski, Sylvia, Couture, CroCop, Nogueira, Werdum. Pride always had the better HW division, and the UFC had huge years in 2006 and 2007 with a few good heavyweight matchups like Sylvia vs Monson.

Besides, Brock Lesnar is a guy that people want to watch. Doesn't matter to the UFC if people are tuning in to see him win, or to see him get beat up. As long as they pay for the PPV, UFC is happy.

Pretty much says it all there. I've said plenty of times before, if Affliction or other promotions want to be able to compete they have to reach further than one division. Having Fedor doesn't mean jack if they don't have anything else going for them across the board in the other divisions.

As for Randy/Brock. It's win/win for the company. If Brock wins, he goes from star to superstar. If Randy wins, the sentimental side will come out about how this old guy still beats the odds. Either way you get to see intriguing fights in the future consisting of either Mir, Lesnar, Nog and Couture. If ever they needed the HW division to be shook up in the UFC this is a good time to do it.
