seeing the aussies fighting thai's and filo 's .
It's an outrage !a travesty.

Peter kazzi is fighting somebody with 5-6 losses of late!
wat a ****en joke.
Mundine is fighting somebody ranked ~around 135 th in the world, and he is ranked 5th.
and the rest of the left hand colum is up against people with losing records.
It's a farce of the highest order.!

The bloke is playing the entire Australian public for a bunch of ****ing idiots. He's getting older and his PPV sales are dwindling. Shouldn't have to put up with this **** for much longer.

I agree, Mundine isn't good for Australia Boxing in any way.

i dont agree that mundine is bad for the sport in australia
if it wasnt for him and hes high profile, how much coverage would the sport get in oz

it doesnt get alot now, but without him there would be next to none, he also brought more fans into the sport, whether its just cos they want to see him ktfo or not, it doesnt matter, he definitely lifted the profile, and garnered interest in the sport in this country

I'm not sure how long you've been following the fight game, but judging by your post, not very long. Boxing in Australia was pretty decent in the late 90's before Mundine entered the sport and brought the circus with him, just because he gives the sport exposure doesn't mean it's doing the sport any good. The quality of the cards that FOX sports broadcasted in the late 90's was much better than the crap you see today.

Sure it wasn't at the Level of the USA, but at least it was good honest fighting.

Since Mundine has deflected to Boxing, we've had all the these mug football players thinking they can actually fight and they end up fighting on PPV cards, frankly which is insulting the sport and the sports predecessors, who had to earn their money & exposure the hard way.
Since Mundine's fights are always on PPV and for some reason people buy them, subsequently FOX SPORTS has made all international boxing PPV.

I remember watching Kostya fight on FOX SPORTS for free.

Look at the Fights on all of the Mundines cards, they are a joke. His fights are a joke and the General Public view boxing as a joke because like it or not he is the highest Profile Australian Boxer fighting today and subsequently he is the face of Boxing in this country.

Please out line some other positives besides media attention Mundine brings to the sport? When Boxing is in your blood, it's very hard to look at Anthony Mundine as a positive figure influence in Australian Boxing for genuine boxing fans.

What Australian Boxing needs is another Hero such as like them or not Jeff Harding, Jeff Fenech, Lionel Rose & KT, fighters whom actually fought and represented some sort of hope and idolization. These fighters did positive things for the sport of Australian Boxing during their active careers. People wanted to actually see these guys win not get KO'D.

for genuine boxing fans there is no positive out of mundine ,aside from him being extremely talented, which is cancelled out by him being to scared to test himself, but the sport needs more than just genuine boxing fans to survive and thrive in australia, theres just not enough of us, it needs the new fans and the publicity he has brung to the sport

you are right it would be better if mundine was like a kostya tszyu or a lionel rose
but what im saying is since they are all gone, mundine is the only thing out there that is keeping the sport even remotely mainstream, and that is what the sport needs, it needs more fans, it needs more publicity, it would be good if it received better publicity than what mundine brings, but you have to take what u can get, and at the moment mundine is it.

and i really believe the sport would be worse state than what it already is in oz, without mundines involvement, especially since tszyu retired

For me as a boxing fan, he brings nothing positive to the fight game. Boxing fans are the only ones still interested in Mundine, the General public are over him, the pubs are no longer packed when fights, a lot of bars don't show his fights because it's not worth their while. Boxing is not longer a main stream sport in Australia and isn't a main stream sport in the USA.

Australian Boxing is in a bad state and Anthony Mundine is partly to blame, he has lowered the standard of PPV boxing.
FOX SPORTS don't help the issue either, they'll show any old bum fighting on their cards.

I think Mundine is doing more harm than good.
All the fights on the Mundine cards are a joke.
Whereas Jeff Fenech Fight nights are a whole lot different. At least you get some real competition.
Not foreigners taking a beating at the hands of the australians. No wonder pubs and clubs aren't showing his fights.

Jeff Fenech Fight Nights started this circus, Mundine just sold it to us on PPV and introduced it to the General Public.

agreed, fenech feeds his fighters trash to get the world ratings then sends them off to get smashed.

jamie myer on the otherhand seems to put together some even contested bouts! Leapi and cronje the other week was good to watch..not saying they are australia's most talented, but if i could pick between 2 closey contested fighters of average ability or 1 potential star fighting someone who is genuinely going to get themselves hurt in EVERY fight they have i would always choose the closer matched ones.

i am bias against fenech mind you.. and i think if hyder didnt associate with him he would be much better off.
