Everyone here knows I like RPGs and I know a lot of people here like games like QUAKE and EA Sports games.

Take this opportunity to find a game that looks different to the usual games you play and say why you would consider buying this game.

Try looking at
http://www.gamers.com
or
http://www.gamespy.com if you're looking for reviews of games to post here.

Tron 2.0
http://www.gamers.com/game/1159401
Apart from the fact it's Tron? Well I'd play it because it is part first person action, part adventure and part roleplaying. A game that has cross genres and makes use of awesome special effects typically means it will be interesting and highly replayable.

GTA: Vice City
http://www.gamers.com/game/1317259
Similar to Tron, GTA is primarily an adventure game, with very strong action elements (making it an action-adventure game). With a tight plot, good voices and lots of nonstop action, you cannot look past this game.

Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
http://www.gamespy.com/reviews/february03/robinhoodpc/
Arju saw this game and really wanted it. Judging from the reviews, the graphics and the fact she wants it, I may well give it ago. My last fond adventures of a Robin Hood game was the Conquests of Longbow by Sierra and I felt I was thoroughly spoiled by that game, I've been afraid to touch any other Robin Hood game since. :)

Unreal Tournament 2004 & Doom 3
A far cry from the usual indepth RPGs I prefer, occasionally we need rampant blood and violence, especially in a multiplayer environment. I know Doom 3 isn't focused on multiplayer but I still feel it falls into the RAMPANT VIOLENCE category.

I've seen Halo as a single player and wasn't that impressed. On multiplayer it could be a different story... isn't Halo on PC?

Creed -
LAN Parties rule. Check out www.shafted.com.au. A lot of my friends used to play here. Some probably still do.

As for you Gman, we don't all enjoy getting our asses viewed by 700 people. If choosing to keep my pants on in public makes me a nerd in your eyes, I can live with that.

Broken Sword: Sleeping Dragon
http://www.justadventure.com/reviews/Broken_Sword_Sleeping_Dragon/BS3.shtm

I've always liked adventure games but never felt recent manufacturers have given the genre justice. The Broken Sword series are a worthy successor to the Sierra throne.

Robin Hood Defender of the Crown
http://www.justadventure.com/reviews/RobinHoodDefCrown/RobinHoodDefCrown.shtm

Another adventure/Robin Hood game I think Arju might like.

A Tale In The Desert
http://www.justadventure.com/reviews/ATITD/ATITD.shtm

Another MMORPG, but I've been reading a LOT of independant game developer stuff lately. This game was build on a relatively small budget by a small team and the end result is a very tight product. A lot of reviews give this a very very high rating, despite the fact it's graphics are not on par with the likes of Everquest and despite the fact it's not a total PVP hackfest like UO or EQ. Based on that and that it is a small company I'd try this to see the work. It's also free to try for the first 24 hours (check out the link).

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
http://www.lucasarts.com/products/swkotor/splash.htm

Being released on PC this month it's already been hailed as game of the year on XBox. I'll buy just about anything made by Bioware. They can do no wrong.

XIII

David Duchovny did the voice the main character. Based on a big comic series IIRC. Looks like an awesome action/adventure with a serious story attached.

Age of Mythology
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/476277.asp
Looks good and everyone is raving about it.

Warcraft III is another. I never got around to playing it :(

Deus Ex: Invisible War
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/528588.asp
I never played the original and nearly every game designer (both professional and amateur) has cited it as a major source of inspiration. That says a lot. Plus I'm a big fan of Warren Spector's games.

Age of Mythology is a great game

The Titans expansion pack is good, but its not the best expansion pack I have ever played. In fact, I think I enjoy the original better

I've not had much time for game playing lately. I'll probably have a few drinks and log into AC2 tonight, though.
