Damn i'm already dissappointed, Maeda got submitted, also Razor Rob lost a decision, he may never hold the lw title again.

Nissan vs Rosholt up next.

A great first round! I scored it for Rosholt, Nissan started the bout throwing good punches flexing his muay tai and rocking rosholt but rosholt's takedowns and ground control won it for him.

Rosholt gets the victory with ground and pound! A good first win but Rosholt def has holes in his game. He's a wrestler in the form of Hughes Couture where he takes you down and beats you as opposed to a koscheck and sherk where they take you down and stay there for a decision. He gets hit easily however and won because Nissan's stamina was pretty bad. Rosholts got a good chin tho and took some bombs and its a good card already

In the next fight GARCIA GETS THE UPSET AND KNOCKS OUT JENS PULVER!!! Man Jens was a bit ****y pre fight and both came out swinging. Jen's "new style" saw him be a bit more cautious but he was still swinging as was Garcia and Leonard tagged Jens and had him laying against the cage. HUGE win for Leonard. As for Jens, idk, he's showing his age and after going 5 rounds with Faber he got eating in less then one round with Garcia. He may have overlooked Leonard

Rosholt's a damn good wrestler, he has to stop blocking punches with his face though

Ely's up next son, HE BETTA NOT DISSAPPOINT. In my opinion this is gonna answer many questions, can he still compete, how much did rehab take out of him, and can this be a big wake up call to the 185-205 division in UFC.

WAR FILHO!!!!

Filho def looks out of shape in this fight, come on prove the haters wrong Filho

Dice
11-05-2008, 09:25 PM
Round one goes to Sonnen, Eli is really playing mind games and almost caught him in ANOTHER arm bar. Sonnen has got to keep it standing and Filho has to push the pace cuz he only has two more rounds to get the sub instead of 4

Dice
11-05-2008, 09:31 PM
Round 2 again to Sonnen, Filho looks TERRIBLE, he really needs to pull something out, he's being out struck, and getting stuffed in the takedowns, he needs to do something FAST

Wow, that was dreadful, I think the drugs caught up to Filho, that was a horrible performance, a terrible way to lose your undefeated record and I'm real dissappointed as a fan, just terrible

This is why I didnt bet points, cuz I knew Paolo is a beast, but when ur mentally weak, physical strength is useless.

This is a dude who had the PRIDE aura on him, a perfect record and was ranked number 2 behind Anderson Silva, and he threw it all away to a B level fighter at that. Chael Sonnan sucks, his stand up in the fight was terrible but at least he pushed the fight.

Bricks you aint lose 10k, u got robbed of 10k

Anyway, Faber Brown next, i'm glad Faber cut that damn hair

145 seems to be a perfect division for Garcia. he didn't look this good in the UFC

I'm really proud of Brown he was a huge underdog and deserves lots of credit. Its also good he won cuz now its not a monopoly no more. Faber will be back tho and Garcia deserves a shot at Brown and thats gonna be a barnburner.

What a great card and once again I am truely ashamed of Paolo Filho I was a big fan and hope he can get it together

Faber tried to throw an absolutely retarded elbow and he paid for it. He was doing risky things with his stand-up right from the beginning - keeping his hands down for one. At one point IIRC he had his hands down at his waist then came forward with a slight jumping knee. He's good but he's obviously no Anderson Silva.

I agree. Risholt needs to work on his boxing A LOT!!!! He has a lot of potential though. His wrestling is really good. If he improves his stand up game, he'll be a force to be reckoned with.:boxing:

Agreed, for the life of me I wondered why anyone would think that Mike Brown was an underdog coming into this fight. Guy has only lost 4 times and each guy was tough as nails (Franca, Sudo, Lauzon & Imanari) and each fight he was getting the better of his opponent before getting caught. Plus the fact that he had his leg broken 3 years ago in a fight and has come back to string off 7 straight wins, 5 by stoppage on route to his match with Faber shows the guy has guts/heart and is very underestimated IMO.

As for Filho, well I've never been a big fan, and I don't think some publications rating #2 MW in the world has ever been justified since his most impressive win and biggest to date was against Misaki. Prior to that and seemingly after that he has been fighting B-Level fighters at best. I don't see him doing to well against the likes of Hendo, Franklin, Cote or some of the more seasoned MWs. Nor do I see him making much noise at 205 if he decides to go there.

after that performance, i'd be surprised if we even see him in the UFC

Filho was overrated, never should have been ranked #2 in the world in the middleweight div.

Dice

Paulo Filho was def the number 2 middleweight, He beat Masaki, chonan, ninja rua, his BJJ is top notch and I think he'd submit Hendo just like Silva did. The only people I see doing anything to him in MW is Silva and maybe Franklin. That was obviously before the meltdown cuz now I dont think he can make any noise.

And Mike Brown was the underdog, before he got caught Faber looked much faster and looked like he cud strike at any time, he was just trying to be too impressive and let the expectations get to him

YUHHHHHHH!

Genki Sudo made him look childish. He stuffed a single leg, a barbarian like attempt to over power him and REVERSED a double underhook take down. Then after that, he made Mike Brown look unseasoned and mediocre on the ground. Genki also showed us that Mike Brown appears to be a sore loser when he did his trademark'ish helping the opponent up and bowing to them.

Ninja was and is overrated, his record is littered with wins against B to C-Level fighters and although he has fought top guys he has has never beaten one. Chonan has made his name on being able to catch Silva in a one-in-a-million chance submission and has never been ranked as a top MW. Misaki was his only win against a top ranked MW and it was impressive enough to get him a top 5 spot at the most, but no way was he #2. He'd do OK in the UFC if he is given cans like Joe Doerksen or Ed Herman but I don't see him doing anything special against the tougher more well-rounded fighters. He's not a complete fighter by any stretch, over reliant on BJJ, heavy handed but awful technique IMO, a decent enough striker would have a field day pot-shotting him at will. Plus this fight proved at the very least that he is either undisciplined or doesn't care anymore, I mean coming in 7lbs over the limit when your the challenger is pretty disgraceful, but when you the champion it's just pathetic.
