View Full Version : Nas>>>Jay Z
Lean On Me 11-04-2008, 10:21 PM True story.
I like both as MCs. Both are a bit overrated as well, but nobody bites as many lines as Jay.
Fact.
When it comes down to the essence of Hiphop, beats and rhymes, its not even close. All that other ****, business ventures, etc doesn't mean a thing if its not coming out of the speakers.
When it comes to beats and rhymes, Nas>>>Jay Z.
punchDrUnK MONK 11-04-2008, 11:30 PM i prefer nas anyday
Versastyle 11-04-2008, 11:34 PM I like Jay-Z. He's up there with Wizzy for me.
Unknown Champ 11-05-2008, 12:13 AM i like jay a bit more then nas.
Pico Hollywood 11-05-2008, 12:15 AM I like Nas better
he is a throwback of the original hip-hop generation
Truth 11-05-2008, 12:37 AM I hate this topic. It always ends up with someone getting discredited, while both are legends. Neither rapper should be discredited. Jay has give us songs for days. Nas has given us songs for days aswell.
I think Nas is better because he raps about more things.
but I like Jay-Z better.
CaRnAgEViOLaToR 11-05-2008, 01:21 AM i think nas is better. alot of more classic tracks
Addition 11-05-2008, 05:05 AM Without a doubt Nas is better.

We still in ages of glocks
Razors or octs
'Cause I lay in the drop
Pump the base on the pocket
Move the H on our block, in front of H&R Block
See the face on our watch, put your face on our c0ck
I keep the looga hug
Show you how to use the snub
Whoop-te-woo, f**k around be you I plug
I don't do the drugs, baby I move the drugs
Right on the computer love, it sound like computer love
Duck the cop-cappers
And them top-hatters
Fock flavors, harlem world we got gators
Not dead I said they alive
Lions, Tigers, Bears, oh my
It's a straight zoo
A to Z, May to April
Bring the Apes through
F**k around you be ape food, baked food
9 *****es 8 dudes
Diamond visions, great cubes
Get it straight fool
Cam killed that
Sttuddahboy619 11-06-2008, 09:22 PM Nas gets the nod for me!
-Antonio- 11-06-2008, 11:51 PM I disagree. But I like Nas more.
Floyd Sinclair 11-07-2008, 11:30 AM Nas 22, Jay-z 5
This is how it happens every time, this threads been done over and over again. I'd be more interested to see a Jay-z vs Biggie thread, or a Jay-z vs Ghostface thread. How about Nas vs Rakim vs Krs One vs Pac? I gotta go with pac by a millimeter, its that close. Nas and Rakim...very tough to answer that one. Depends on who im listening to.
"I take 7 Mc's put em in a line
and add 7 more brothers that think they can rhyme
well it'll take 7 more before I go for mine
now that's 21 MC's ate up at the same time"
Rakim was so ahead of his time, his parents hadnt met yet

I dont think its that easy. I posted a poll on boxden and the results were 33 to 33, they tied. I found the thread, heres my proof

Tha Greatest 11-07-2008, 02:07 PM Nas is the greatest rapper ever, Jay Z is not.
Killa Cam 11-07-2008, 10:02 PM Jay and Nas >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Killa Cam.
obviously. but he does got some sick wordplay
"my chinchilla blue (blue),
you ever dealt wit a dealer?,
well here's the deal ma,
we goin to the dealer booth (booth),
no concielin', no cielin', iont need a roof (roof),
...act up, get out, iont need you, poof (poof)"
i wont explain it, but im sure u get the two diferent ways he uses deal and the offshoot of the word-dealt...ill post a track from each of his albums to prove hes more versatile and not limited to only being nice when it comes to wordplay & punchlines

ill let the music speak for itself, but yea, Cam gets alotta hate for no reason...hes one of, if not, my favorite rapper of all time, and would slip into my top 40 of all time list, anywhere from 33-40
Floyd Sinclair 11-08-2008, 01:13 PM I honestly think cam is almost top 25, what holds him back is in my opinion he never dropped a classic. But hes just as nice as alotta other great rappers
If jay had kept up anything like his Reasonable Doubt standard, it would really just be a matter of opinion to me; it would be about whether you like serious stuff or playa rap, but given how their careers have actually unfolded, you have to say Nas.
Killa Cam 11-09-2008, 10:43 PM I honestly think cam is almost top 25, what holds him back is in my opinion he never dropped a classic. But hes just as nice as alotta other great rappers
yeah, hes dropped classic tracks but could never put a entire album together perfect front to back.
hes got a solid discography, i can tell you now that Purple Haze is def. my personal favorite, but his best album? i really can't decide....in the end itd probly come down to S.D.E. & Purple Haze though
not to mention hes got one of the the most solid track record of intro's to his discography, not that it means much, but every intro (only exception bein confession of fire, and the intro still had a good concept) gets me pumped the **** up, favorite intros probly S.D.E. or the real intro to Killa Season after that 40 Cal. promo lol
