If Pride and UFC can't set up a fight between Silva and Couture for there Vegas show. Jackson should definitely get a rematch for the MW belt.

hell yes jackson showed everyone he deserves a shot i think a rematch between him and silva when they are both fresh would be awesome

I think Jackson could win against Silva, it was just Silva's night, no doubt that Jackson got Silva with some good ones, but you cant deny the knees. It was sweet too, Silva seen that Jackson was waiting for the knee with the block and hit him with the hook, niiiiiice. I pick Couture over any LHW until he retires.......

I loved this fight
Jackson is one of the toughest basterds i have ever seen.
He had to have taken like 20 knees to the head/face.
Silva is the man in pride.
Jackson was great too.

What was Vanderlei's quote about Jackson? Something like , I will knock him out, but I will do it slowly so I can punish him.

Twenty consecutive knees or so will definitely knock somebody out. I agree that a rematch is definitely in order. I would love to see both of them go at it, with each guy at a 100 percent.

both expended a ton of energy in their first fights so the whole "they should have a rematch with 100% energy" idea doesn't really hold up.
and i don't really think it was a case of silva just having a good night either. jackson did much better against liddel then silva did against yoshida. they were both on fire prior to the final match.

i think it was just a case of jackson staying too low, opening himself up for the knees, and not learning his lesson after the 5th consecutive knee to the head. mistakes that cost him the fight- but that won't resurface if they rematch.

I think you misread what I was trying to say. I'm not making excuses for Jackson at all. I'm just saying that I would love to see them go at again when both a fresh and healthy. Then we could put to rest any doubts that people may or may not have.
You're absolutely right that Jackson opened himself up for the knees. I think it was pure stubborness on his part, thinking that he could survive those knees. Or maybe he just didn't have the energy to clinch any more.

Rampage was outclassed by Silva, just like Rampage outclassed Liddell; there are no doubts in my mind about Silva, never did.

Rampage vs. Yoshida, winner get Silva.
I would like to see what would have happend if Silva and Yoshida went 3 rounds.

I wouldn't be suprised if Yosh beat Rampage.

Rampage already won his title shot. So a rematch is defenatly in order. The fact that we all know that Yoshida is for real now defenatly mixes up Prides MW devision. Maybe a Yoshida vs. Arona match would be good to see who fights the winner of Silva vs. Rampage II....

I think that's a great plan. They really need a middle weight too. At 185 I mean, Sak, Busta and Hendo are a great start to that division. Throw in Shogun or Ninja and boom.

Yeah I forgot about that. Silva vs Jackson in a Championship match is needed. Both fresh and 100% (or as close as any athlete can be to 100%) The BJJ vs Judo with Arona would be sweet BUT..........
knowing Pride we'll see
Yoshida vs Bob Sapp
Jackson vs Arona
Silva vs some guy named Larry

LMAO@Larry......

LMAO @ Larry too. Or they'll just have Silva fight Yoshida as many times as it takes to beat him.....

Rampage is improving more and more every time I see him fight, I could not believe the way he dominated Chuck. I believe he will be champion one day. The weird thing is, Colin Oyama got involved in MMA when Tito Ortiz hired him to help with Silva's knees before there fight. I would think that Rampage would have better knee defence training with Oyama all the time.....

Its hilarous for me to read that couture is the best lhw outhere, he is not even a match for wanderlei. If there is anyone who could beat wanderlei its arona.

I usually respect others opinions, but you lost me with NOT EVEN A MATCH FOR WANDERLEI. Silva is by far, and without a doubt my favorite fighter, and I will pick him to win if and when they fight. But to call the best possible fight in MMA right now, not even a match is ridiculous. Couture has dominated 2 top 5 fighters in his last 2 fights. His wrestling skill is great. He's fought much bigger opponents for most of his career. Tell ya what, I wouldn't mind seeing Couture/ Arona, that'd be one hell of a fight.

I agree with Zen, although I would pick Couture in a Silva/Couture match up. They are the top 2 lhw's now. I have become a believer. All I asked was to see him against some top competetion, I got my wish......

Dude, have you not been watching Pride lately. Since it was "Reborn", matches have started to get way better. They are asking the Japanese fans to choose there "dream" fights. Pride has a bright future under its new management. They give the people what they want now.

Yeah, it's way better seeing him against top competition. It brings out the animal in him. Remember the Mezger and Henderson fights......
