View Full Version : my opinion on the gp *spoiler*
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 01:34 AM ok first off,
i thought this whole event was great.I had no complaints other then the saku vs randleman fight being boring.I was kinda surprised saku won but he earned it.The silva vs yoshida fight was a war, yoshida deffinately earned my respect and proved by far he is the best japanese fighter there is.Rampage vs liddell was a great fight i knew rampage would beat liddell i told everyone that would listen.I was pleasantly surprised in how well he did against silva up until the ko but overall i say he did great against silva.Nog vs crocop wow what a fight i thought crocop was gonna ko him until he sneaked that armbar in you could tell crocop was disappointed looked like he wanted to cry.Hendo vs busta was a straight beat down i think maybe it's time busta hung it up he looked outclassed.Goodridge vs Bobish was too fast to even have an opinion about but I knew gary would win.I was kinda disappointed they didn't show herring vs yamamoto but i listened to pridecast last night and it sounded to me like yamamoto was giving him all he could handle but herring squeeked out a victory somehow. In conclusion this event was awesome one of the best shows i've seen by far and it seems the next one will be even better I can't wait.
Best event ever. Busta shouldn't hang it up though.
BTW, it looked like Mirko did shed some tears to me.
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 01:42 AM yah i was looking at mirko he definately had some tear buildup.and about busta i think he should he's getting old and it showed tonight.
In this sport anyone can get caught at any moment. By sub or KO. I really think Busta is still a bonafide Top 10 p4p. ****, he lost an extremely close decision to Rampage less than 3 months ago.
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 01:55 AM oh definately a solid top 10 for sure i just think you will see him start to lose more
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:01 AM Busta is #2 p4p in my eyes. His showing against Rampage proved that. There was defenatly some emotion showing from Mirko, If Mirko had more ground experiance, not just a few months, If Mirko studied the ground hard for over a year, he could be awesome......
Kaps, who's your top 5 P4P? You've got Busta above Couture and Hughes?
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:10 AM here's my top 5 p4p
1) dan henderson
2)randy couture
3)wanderlei silva =after this last fight no doubt
4)murilo bustamante
5)antonio minotauro nogueira
those the the top 5 p4p imo
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:23 AM My top p4p are
1. Henderson
2. Busta
3. Couture
4. Hughes
5. Oritz......
Curly Howard 11-10-2003, 02:25 AM Matt Hughes? BJ Penn?
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:25 AM honestly kaps i don't see how you don't rank nog in there he's only lost once
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:26 AM i'd put those two in my top 10 curly
twice Henderson and Fedor
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:28 AM Hughes = ownes his devision, same with BJ, but that is my p4p list......
Curly Howard 11-10-2003, 02:28 AM I'm worried about Fedor's chin. I think Mirko can beat him
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:30 AM fedor vs crocop would be a war no doubt i see that going a round at the most
Time for another HW GP. Mirkos fighting style would serve him well in a GP format. I think he can knock a majority of the HW's around out in 1 round.
Penn is not top 5 and he doesn't own his division. Owners finish.
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:32 AM well we'll see when penn fights ludwig or sudo
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:32 AM After the domination of Sudo, I dont see who can beat BJ. Maybe Franca, that's a farfetche Maybe.......
Curly Howard 11-10-2003, 02:32 AM He beat Gomi. No one owns the lightweight divison cause they only get one match a month.
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:33 AM Not Sudo, but uhhhhhhhh Gomi....Yeah, thats right.....
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:33 AM nah i don't see france beating penn on his best day
Curly Howard 11-10-2003, 02:33 AM Javier Vasquez will own the LW divison if his knee holds out
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:35 AM I agree Curly! Javi is the ****!

I just spit my drink out. Thanks for the laugh. Not saying it's not possible, but he's never fought above KOTC level. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
Curly Howard 11-10-2003, 02:36 AM ok
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:37 AM yah until he beats anybody worth a **** i say nay
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:40 AM Javi is great, KOTC or not, he will get his opportunity too show it soon enough, if UFC aint knockin on his door I dont know. But belive Javi is good, And remeber Ricco came from KOTC......
His biggest win is Sato, who's 2-4-1 in his last seven fights. Other than that Crane is probably the only other guy he's fought that's in the top 20.
I'm not saying he can't be great, I'm saying he isn't yet. He's fighting someone tough in his next fight, I can't remember who right now though.
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:42 AM that's all? man how can you even concider saying he's own the lw division?
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:45 AM If you have ever seen Javi fight, you will know. It's weird, kinda like Karo Parisyan, not really known of to the mainstream audiance but obviously a threat. Wait and see my friends, wait and see.......
I know he's good. Trust me I know, but he's untested. I think he's top 10 ww, maybe top 5, but he needs to fight some top 10 guys.
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:47 AM i've seen him fight he was ok i wasn't very impressed
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:55 AM How where you not impressed?! His ground game is tops!
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:56 AM well because he was beating up a nobody to me that's not impressive
Curly Howard 11-10-2003, 02:57 AM Zen's right on the money with his record but I just have faith in the guy. I'm not a fan of ground fighting at all but he's very impressive. My favorite LW is Ludwig but if I had to bet the farm I would have to pick a "healthy" Javier.
realkaps 11-10-2003, 02:58 AM Im to drunk to argue this,Tanner where art thou.....
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 02:59 AM well if he ever fights penn i bet everything on penn
Curly Howard 11-10-2003, 03:00 AM Finally a good discussion in the MMA forum and I gota go to bed. Good night gentleman. Best MMA show ever.!.!
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 03:01 AM agreed, best show i've seen maybe ever
