View Full Version : Yoshida Vs. Silva (Spoiler).....
realkaps 11-10-2003, 01:27 AM Does anybody still doubt Yoshida? He went the distance vs. Silva which no one thought he could do, and also landed som nice punches. Does anybody still think he is a fake? I think he is the real deal now, I think with a little more trianing he can be a legetimate threat for the pride MW title. Whats your opinion?
Agreed without a doubt. He's the real deal. I didn't see that fight going past the first or second striking encounter. Surprised the **** out of me. Props to Wanderlei for his grappling skills. Yoshida traded with Silva too, he should train some hardcore boxing for awhile. I'm actually really excited to see him fight again.
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 01:36 AM nope no doubts in my mind yoshida is definately a force to be reconed with too any fighter
realkaps 11-10-2003, 01:43 AM That article that I posted a few months ago had me thinking, but after Yoshida's performance tonight, I dont think anyone can deny his skills. If he did take some striking art for a while, I honestly belive he could be the first japanese to defeat Silva.....
DragonZero 11-10-2003, 01:46 AM agreed if he had striking skills he would be even harder to beat and imo yoshida might have one of the most solid chins in all off mma just look at some of the beatings he took and still no ko or nothing that impresses me.
Kempo Chris 11-10-2003, 10:21 AM Alot of respect for Yoshida
He definetley proved himself
The Ensanity 11-10-2003, 11:15 AM Give him some striking and he'll be DAMN GOOD.
mmafanman 11-10-2003, 12:34 PM I never doubted at any time Yoshida's capabilities. Perhaps with this performance, all the naysayers and conspiracy theorists will have to acknowledge that Yoshida's previous wins against Tamura and Frye were not works.
Yoshida showed a lot of heart, balls and strength during this fight. He absolutely was not afraid to trade with Silva, and he did something a lot of other fighters could not do...take Silva down. Twice. He almost had Silva in a gi choke at one point, but the Axe Murderer showed very good technique on the ground and was able to neutralize Yoshida's ground work.
Very good showing by both fighters.
KimuraMan 11-10-2003, 05:56 PM About time all of the trash talking is over with, Glad to see everyone finnally got to see what a skilled fighter Yoshida really is, and that he can be a threat to anyone in this sport.
Bluecifer 11-11-2003, 01:03 PM Yeah, Yosh surprised the **** out of me as did Silva. Hell of a fight. He showed a ton of heart.
****, some people still can't accept it. Read today's news on MMAWeekly.com
lightweight 11-11-2003, 01:29 PM I can't get on the page, care to summarize it?
Some "writer" was *****ing that Silva wasn't aggresive enough against Yoshida so it must have been a work. Total ignorance on his part in my opinion.
KimuraMan 11-11-2003, 04:48 PM Whoever wrote that article obviously doesnt know jack **** about Judo. Judo is a art that thrives on there attacker being aggresive. A judoka uses aggresiveness to his advantage to gain superior position and ultimately submit there attacker. Silva fought a very smart bought against one of the greatest judo pracitioners in the world.
