View Full Version : Could Tszyu be any more perfect in this fight?
restless_438 11-06-2004, 10:08 PM I'm just in amazement of how accurate and perfect Kostya Tszyu was in fight tonight with Mitchell. Mitchell should've fought more on the outside and not stood right in front of him. I'm not going to say Mitchell wasn't prepared for this fight simply because of how precise Tszyu was in the last 2 rounds. I think Tszyu could've beaten about ANYONE the way he performed tonight. Perfect fight from Tszyu. Thoughts?

BrooklynBomber 11-06-2004, 10:12 PM Kostya was playing perfect game tonight. In my opinion he was even better that aginst Judah. I seriously dont think that anybody in Welterweight could have beaten him tonight.
GO KOSTYA!!!!!!!
BrooklynBomber 11-06-2004, 10:14 PM Ups, I meant Jr. Welterweight. Even though I think that he could be a threat to anybody in Welter too.
jpboxer3 11-06-2004, 10:18 PM Yeah!I knew Tszyu had Mitchells number after the first fight.I'm thinking, why Mitchell didn't injure his knee this time because he sure did better on one and a half legs than he did with two, lol. After a 2yr lay-off,Tszyu proved that he still is the 140pound king.Bring them all on!

abdiel2k3 11-06-2004, 10:19 PM this fight was a combination of Tszyu being great and Shamba coming in with a horrible fight plan
i mean he gave kosta the fight that he needed to have a chance
reminded me of JMM-Pac
JMM fought the wrong type of fight in the first round but was able to make an adjustment
Shamba just wasnt able to
seemed to me that he just wanted t prove he could beat Kosta at his own game
i got the feelin that if he boxed he thought people would simply think he ran his way to a victory
in the end it was
Great Performance by Tszyu and Idiot Mitchell

If he doesnt decide to retire, it will be interesting to say the least on how his next lineup of fights is. I wouldnt be to interested in seeing Tszyu at 147 as he may be at a height disadvantage.
Also Tszyu is an showtime fighter and Mayweather just got released from HBO and is a free agent, Let Mayweather deal w/ Gatti and Tszyu go after Harris/Hatton and then let these 2 gods greatest gift to boxers get it on.
BrooklynBomber 11-06-2004, 10:27 PM You are right about height disadventage. But i want Gatti/Zoo. Let Mayweather deal with hatton or harris or whatever, granted he does not go to prison(god help him). And only than I want to see Floyd against Kostya(if they both win)

Big thanx man.Great job on the live updates.
Swifty 11-06-2004, 10:41 PM I hope he doesnt retire
he needs to fight Floyd and settle who really is the best in that div.

Floyd needs to fight a top 5 140 lber to prove he's worthy of a shot like Vivian Harris or Ricky Hatton. Mitchell is no longer that high by virtue of being creamed tonight. Lots of other 140s in that division have put in their work to earn the next shot. not Floyd. Floyd needs to take on a tougher fight than Sharmba. He almost got KOd by Chop Flop Corley.

Horrible fight plan?
Kostya cut off the ring perfect and made him fight close and then when he got close he punished him inside with short punches and out muscled him. Kostya knows how to cut off the ring and jab vs. a southpaw something that most righties dont do well.
phallus 11-07-2004, 12:20 AM Man, that layoff didn't hurt Kostya at all, hell, i think it made him hungrier to make sure he finished Mitchell off this time!
jpboxer i hope you're right about Johnson, i'm hoping he wins too!
techn9ne 11-07-2004, 12:25 AM i was there in row 7 and it was the most fun ive ever had at a fight

you lucky sob......man i wish big fights came to nova scotia or any fights for that matter
Supafly25 11-07-2004, 12:48 AM i agree wit the first couple of post Tszyu was def 100% 2nite, every punch he threw was so precise. it seems like layoffs r the thing to do at the moment. Tito and Tszyu both come of long layoffs and fight 1 of the best fights of their careers.
BrooklynBomber 11-07-2004, 09:24 AM I cant get it why you people calling Floyd #1Jr. Welterweight. He only fought 1 fight at 140
and was not that impressive against Chop Chop. Let him fight Gatti. Somebody who will browl the **** out of him.

I dont know with this one.
on one hand you have Mayweather, a undefeated pound4pound 1/2 fighter, a former world champ who fights and beats the best. I hate the man but i give him a lot of respect.
On the other hand, you have a fighter who's too small for Tszyu, coming of bad display agianst a shot fighter! I peronally find it hand to believe that Mayweather could hurt Tszyu.
Mayweather deserves a shot more than Mitchell ever did, but i'd like to see Mayweather prove he can do it at 140 before stepping in with the 140 king.
Mayweather vs Gatti is the best fight because it gives Harris a chance to man up and face Hatton instead of *****ing out again.
