just for once can they please give this guy a challenge?
take the tournament for example, first they pit him up against someone who he pounded the **** out of 2 times already. like anyone thought sak would have a chance that night.
now he's up against a guy that's coming out of an injury, has **** for mma experience, and won the last fight out of a miracle submission. timura was pounding the **** out of him the whole time so whaddya think silva's gonna do??? and i DO NOT see silva getting submitted. not only is he a bjj brown belt but if sak never came close to it then yoshida sure as **** won't.
so silva will sliiiiiiiide into the championship as always.
now let's look at the other 2.
liddel and jackson are both VERY WORTHY challenges for silva (and for eachother might i add) so it would seem that the final fight would be a perfect matchup- kinda like finally giving tito a real challenge by givin him randy. but NOOOOOO they're gonna have the final fight on the same night.
sakakibara knows this. he (and the rest of us) know that silva will blow through yoshida so easily that he'll have about 99.9999999% of his strength and endurance left afterwards. we also know that, no matter HOW good the liddel/jackson fight will be, the winner is going to be ****in EXHAUSTED.
why isn't sakakibara having the final fight scheduled for a 3rd event? why cluster the 2 matches in one night? business-wise, it makes no sense. a tournament finale-backed add campaign would be PERFECT for the next pride fight.
i think it's a "pride" issue on sakakibara . silva is pride's pampered child, much like how tito was to ufc. sakakibara sure as HELL doesn't wanna see dana white bring in his golden boy to win his own organization and pride has done everything possible to **** over rampage ever since he's been involved with them. not only does pride not want silva to go, but they sure as **** don't wanna see him replaced by jackson or liddel. i like silva too but i'm getting sick of them pitting him up against tomato cans just to entertain the fans. he's a fierce fighter and he needs some fierce ****in opponents.
i really hope sunday night proves my predictions wrong.
