View Full Version : I'm sick of Pride pampering Silva(spoilers)

just for once can they please give this guy a challenge?

take the tournament for example, first they pit him up against someone who he pounded the **** out of 2 times already. like anyone thought sak would have a chance that night.
now he's up against a guy that's coming out of an injury, has **** for mma experience, and won the last fight out of a miracle submission. timura was pounding the **** out of him the whole time so whaddya think silva's gonna do??? and i DO NOT see silva getting submitted. not only is he a bjj brown belt but if sak never came close to it then yoshida sure as **** won't.
so silva will sliiiiiiiide into the championship as always.

now let's look at the other 2.
liddel and jackson are both VERY WORTHY challenges for silva (and for eachother might i add) so it would seem that the final fight would be a perfect matchup- kinda like finally giving tito a real challenge by givin him randy. but NOOOOOO they're gonna have the final fight on the same night.

sakakibara knows this. he (and the rest of us) know that silva will blow through yoshida so easily that he'll have about 99.9999999% of his strength and endurance left afterwards. we also know that, no matter HOW good the liddel/jackson fight will be, the winner is going to be ****in EXHAUSTED.

why isn't sakakibara having the final fight scheduled for a 3rd event? why cluster the 2 matches in one night? business-wise, it makes no sense. a tournament finale-backed add campaign would be PERFECT for the next pride fight.

i think it's a "pride" issue on sakakibara . silva is pride's pampered child, much like how tito was to ufc. sakakibara sure as HELL doesn't wanna see dana white bring in his golden boy to win his own organization and pride has done everything possible to **** over rampage ever since he's been involved with them. not only does pride not want silva to go, but they sure as **** don't wanna see him replaced by jackson or liddel. i like silva too but i'm getting sick of them pitting him up against tomato cans just to entertain the fans. he's a fierce fighter and he needs some fierce ****in opponents.

i really hope sunday night proves my predictions wrong.

Well, it's obvious that DSE wants to keep the belt in the Pride organization. The winner of Jackson/Liddell is definitely going to pay the price in the final; those two are going to beat the **** out of each other.

If he fights chuck or Rampage we will see how good he is, but i see Chuck and Quinton beating on each other. So i think Silva will KO Yoshida easily nad will fight a beaten up Lidell or Jackson

Silva is exciting to watch so they want to keep him as thier champ

Jackson is exciting to watch also. They just want someone from japan to beat Silva. It gives them a national hero. Just like when Sakuraba beat Royce.

I've said that here before, agreed 100%. They don't care as much about Silva, as the care about a Jap beating Silva, they are obsessed by it. I think they believe if they throw enough Japs at him one of them will get lucky sooner or later.

Silva's nick name in Japan is "the Japanese Killer"...So they keep feeding him Japanese fighters

As for the Tourney, of course he is going to get the easy road...the Champ always get the easy road. Just like the playoffs in sports. #1 plays #8...knowing damn well 8 cant give 1 a good fight, but you never know. Upsets can happen.

Go Silva

all i have to say is this it's not like fighting twice on the same nigt is a new thing it's been done many times so don't think that just because they have to fight twice that night it's gonna be any less of a fight i gaurantee whoever it is in the final will have a war

Good post. I get so sick of hearing Pride stacked the deck in Silva's favor, he got the easy road blah, blah, blah.

He's the motha ****in' champ, he should have the easier road. Like Rick Flair says, to be the man, you gotta beat the man. When it happens, I'll give mad props to the guy that does it, but Silva will still be a damn exciting fighter to watch each and every time. Champ or not, he's the Mickey Ward/ Arturro Gatti of MMA. He ****ing brings it no matter what.

Its not hard to look exciting when you fight lower level competition. The japs need to give up and realize that silva can more than likely beat the **** out of everyone on the island.....

The point I was making is that he's exciting no matter who he's fighting. What I say is obviously never gonna change your opinion of him. You hate him for what I consider to be no good reason at all, I'll just leave it at that. I hate Goodridge for no reason, so who am I to argue.

I have plenty of reasons. Now, say Pride stops with the dumb **** and gives Silva real challengers and he beats them, I will gain respect for the man as a fighter and champion. Tomorrow night will be the first time he has been tested by another top ten LHW since Tito beat him. If he wins, I will give him a little more respect, but not as much as I would if he fought Chuck or Rampage fresh......

That was an amazing card.

I am speechless at the poor showed by Randleman. He could of passed Sakurabas guard several times and didn't; and he paid the price in the end

Randleman called himself the worst fighter in the divison at the press conference after.
