View Full Version : 87.5 Billion
The Mouse 11-06-2003, 02:32 PM Bush just signed 87.5 Billion to aid the fight in Iraq. He won't even give the state of CA a few million to help our budget crisis, but he'll waist it in a **** hole like Iraq. Do you have any idea how much the US could benefit with that kind of money?!? God damnit!! We could actually get homeless off the streets, get good medical care, etc. with 87.5 ****ing billion dollars!! Our president needs to be ****ing set on fire!! The whore.

Fallout 11-06-2003, 02:35 PM The U.N estimates that 40 billion dollars is what would be required to insure everyone on the earth has the basic needs of life. Bush is asking for double that to bomb a country that has nothing but sand and oil.
handjobs4dollars 11-06-2003, 02:36 PM boo hoo

Us cause now gas prices will raise again and we'll pay out of the ass on taxes and other **** bush is ****in this country bad on a everyday basis he needs to be impeached or something in my opinion he's the worst president in the history of the USA

there puncuated ***** you happy?
The Jake 11-06-2003, 03:00 PM I really think they could have spared a few million, possibly billions to help bail out CA, but the fact is, they have to prioritise and when it comes down to prioritisation on budgets there is always a loser unfortunately.
Realistically however, I have to applaud Bush on this one. It's one of the smartest things he's done that I've seen.
The reason these countries are in the state they are in is because of a war that he chose to wage upon them. Liberation or not, you cannot deny they would not be facing the issues they are now if the US didn't attack them (I'm not trying to criticise here btw, just stating facts).
So now the US knows that these countries need help and the realise that they have a moral obligation to assist them given that they are the reason these countries have little to no leadership at present. As the article said, the lion's share is going towards military means but really, until there is a semblance of order I question just how much rebuilding can be achieved.

Don't confuse the actions of a minority for those of the majority.
Most are happy to be free from Saddam's rule really. It's just the road to rebuilding is probably a lot harder than anyone anticipated - from an American AND Iraqi viewpoint.
