Anyone know what's happening with Michael "Gatti" Katsidis??? After losing to Casamayor and being robbed against Juan Diaz in two World Title fights where does he go from here???

Does he need two or three easy fights then make an assault for another Title Shot somewhere along the line??? I'm a huge fan of Michael's and the guy always comes to fight and puts on a helluva show and gives value for money.

At least his got the 'Cojones' to go over to the States and fight the 'Very' best. This is further evidenced by him taking the Diaz fight right after losing to Casamayor. Kats could have easily fought a cabbie like Mundine does time and time again, but no Kats jumps right back into the frying pan with Diaz fight.

I feel Kats need to change trainers and get with a 'World Class' trainer like a Freddie Roach or Buddy McGirt who worked wonders with Arturo Gatti. He's still young and is a popular fighter in the States and hopefully we see him get a Title(s).

LOL @ robbed against Diaz.

I certainly don't think it would hurt Michael to get a more experienced and knowledgable trainer.

As far as who he should fight next he seems pretty keen to fight the best at 135 and his strong marketability over in the States should ensure that he gets reasonable access to top opponents so who knows.

I would maybe like to see him in against David Diaz? I think that would be an interesting match-up.

Why do you make such a big deal about him, he is just an average fighter! Mcgirt did not do **** with gatti, he was still a bum afterwards.

Because unlike many other fighters in the business he fights the best and does not give in. He has the heart that not many fighters have and is exciting to watch even if he is losing.

How is he just an average fighter? Just because you lose two reasonably close fights to guys in the top 5 of a stacked division does not make you average. Sure he has his limitations but he is still a very good fighter.

brainscan?!

LOLZ. Just joking.

Can't wait for the next Katsidis fight. He deserves to be the best known/most loved Aussie boxer.

He's second on my list of favourite Aussies. I have Nick Cave at number 1.

Most of the list is made up of girls from Neighbours and Home And Away.

Calling Gatti a bum is just stupid. Sure he wasn't a top P4P but he competed at the sports elite level and some times didn't prevail.

He was also a part of the sport most exciting fights over the last ten years.

You should know by now that, on BoxingScene, if you ain't top 5 p4p you are a certified bum.

True! He just wants to go for the kill ASAP and that means taking big risks and punishment along the way. He'd be a helluva fighter on the streets but can't do that in the ring against guys that can box and move.

Anyone would think boxing wasn't part of the entertainment business.

As it is, and on that scale, Gatti would be p4p no.1. Given the choice, i'd rather watch a Katsidis fight than a PBF one anyday.

how the fuk was he robbed against diaz??

He was a victim of a hometown decision. The refs were also biased towards Diaz. Oh, that's right! Wasn't it a Golden Boy Promotion??? Clearly Diaz was crying after losing to Nate Campbell so there was no way GB wanted Diaz to lose two in a row and in his hometown. We wouldn't want that now would we???

My god. I truly hope that you are either taking the piss or did not see the fight.

I scored it 9 rounds to 3 to Diaz and ppl on NSB were calling me a biased Aussie. Most of the guys who usually score a reasonable fight on NSB scored it at 11-1 or 10-2. If Katsidis had won that fight it would have been a candidate for the biggest robbery in the history of the sport.

I really Hope your not serious as well. I'm a massive Kats fan, but there was no way he won that fight, hometown had nothing to do with it. He just got beaten, simple.

I'm just playing! Really wanted Kats to win given he's from Australia and always comes to fight.

I think either of the two other Diaz boys - David and Julio - would make good opponents. And say what you want about his chin, I think Katsidis-vs-Khan somewhere down the tracks would be a thriller.

I was at Diaz-Katsidis and Juan definintely landed the harder head shots, but Michael landed hard to the body throughout the fight. I gave it to Diaz 8-4 - he was awesome when he got that whirlwind style of punching going. His punches are a lot harder than he's given credit for.

Khan-Kat would be an awful matchup for Amir. Katsidis could take Khan's power and there is no way AMir would be able to hang in there with Katsidis. Khan's people would never let Katsidis in there with him.
