i love this song and video. the dude that imitates jay-z in the video looks just like a young hov. i mean not exactly, but its close enough. its also sick how theres so many cameos in it. Nas and Jadakiss are in it.

American Gangster was a real nice album. I think some brushed it off, but was a real good effort by Hov. The album was lyrically tight and the beats and soul samples were on point.

Heres jay performing it live with a band. jay is my favorite live performer, he always brings a band with him and you can hear what hes saying. Anyone see him perform AG live on VH1? it was real dope.

Im not the biggest fan of the song but the video is real nice, and so is american gangster. Dudes are sleepin on that if they dont like it...a very strong effort by jay-z. Easily one of the top 5 best cds from last year, top 3 to me. Maybe even #1....its close between AG and Big Doe rehab.

AG was a sick album, the beats and lyrics were so on point with the concept, crazy.

Stuff like that is what makes Hov my ATG favorite Emcee.

Mindstate of a gangster from the 40's
Meets the business mind of Motown's Barry Gordy
Turned crack rock into a chain of 40/40's.

Song and video are both close to my all-time faves.

The video ranks right up there with "International Players Anthem"

"Between life and death, they killed my spirit
So what little life I got left, y'all can expect me to ball
I doubt myself, teacher said I was a lost cause
cause I used to roam them halls
Still I spit knowledge, dropped out of high school, skipped college

Life is like a treadmill, *****s runnin in place
Gettin nowhere fast, a whole year done past
I vowed to never stop winin, 'til the earth stop spinnin
