I used to read the comics religiously. There was a script kicking around for a long long time based on one of these....

The most graphically intense scene I remember from these comics is like the one they described in that clip Tanner.

There was this mountain, with a lone predator standing at the top, fighting off hordes of aliens, scaling this hill to get to him. The shoulder cannon firing like a machine gun, taking out hundreds of aliens, but they just outnumbered him. The gun is ripped off his shoulder and then out comes the wrist blade and spear. He takes out heaps more but the weight of numbers just drags the predator down. The last scene is a where an alien pries off the predator's mask and is about to drive it's teeth through his face and you can see the look of terror on the predator's face. It was so distinctive because despite the fact the predator was an alien and had these beady yellow eyes, the look of absolute primal fear was apparent on it's face. They just conveyed this sense of humanity to an inhuman monster and it was amazing.

Never seen anything so grabbing in a comic book before.

If you like Alien and Predator, check out the comics. Definately worth it.

The comics were published by Dark Horse Comics in the late 80's onwards IIRC.

They made the Star Wars comics, Buffy comics and produce a lot of quality work.

I used to read them, some of the books, play the games all of it. I still want to buy AVP2.

They were fantastic comic books. I wish the movies were more basic on these comics. At least Ripley, Newt and Hicks lived :(

hey did you know Lance Hendrickson (sp?) is playing Charles Weyland? Thats a pretty cool little nod to the original Alien series.

Charles Weyland as in, owner of Weyland-Yutani?

Hahaha... seems very appropriate.

joint owner I would presume, we still have to find out who this Yutani guy is.

Well precisely. But it would be a nice nod. I liked how they sent Bishop's creator at the end of Alien 3... that I thought was a nice touch :)
