Nobody gives a **** about MMA, only the UFC can make money because all the cross over WWE fans.

MMA company's that have gone under

Hardcore Championship Fighting
Pride
IFL
Pro elite -EliteXC - Cage Rage - King of the cage - Icon sports

----------------------------------------------------------------

Dream might be dead soon with its crap ratings in Japan

Affliction lost money it's first show but will probably stay afloat since they have Golden Boy to help them promote

Virtually everyone loses money during it's first show.

Losing money your first show is enevitable.

Out of all the promotions under Pro Elite.

Strikeforce: Making bank, especially now. Come out smelling of roses. Might get Frank back.

King Of The Cage: Also made bank. Even though they're not going to get cable coverage for a while, it opened a lot of doors and will keep stable for a while.

ICON: ****ed. The Shaws ****ed them so hard. The Hawaii AC doesn't really give a **** either so you really not going to get an investigation there. Might be able to get back.

Rumble House: Really got ****ed. JD Penn's got to be kicking the **** out of himself. He was the base company. The Hawaiian scene is super ****ed.

Cage Rage: They really got beat up but can bounce back. Geer and MacDonald have good heads on their shoulders and can bounce back. The Al Turk signing is really going to wake them up. They know they'll be the first liquidated by Champion and they're going to fight tooth and nail.

Spirit MC: I even think they didn't know they were part of Pro Elite half the time. They'll still be around.

And I love how just blanket fans and fighters of the striking and grappling arts as "WWE fans".

To be Fair Pride put out the best product in MMA they just didn't have US market accessibility for many years and didn't market as well as UFC. But the actual product was by far superior.

The more viable MMA companies out there the better it will be for the sport. In all monopolies its the consumer who suffers. So, I'm rooting for other MMA's to be profitable. I actually wish someone would use the Pride format for the actual bouts as I believe it is more conducive for action and exciting fights.

Wonder if Pro Elite will try to sell all of its contracts or if everyone's a free agent.

I called this one months ago.

I just hope any new promotions keep the Shaw morons the hell away. Those idiots killed EliteXC.

T.J. Thompson, ICON founder (http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=7399&zoneid=2)

"I was there cageside and watched the whole thing happen," he said. "I think (CBS) got cold feet watching. The way the Ken Shamrock pullout was handled, all the way from the beginning to the end with Seth Petruzelli. Watching Jared Shaw jumping up and down and screaming as a representative of the company, I think was disgusting and embarrassing."

"I don’t have a smoking gun, (but) I’ve been around long enough, I’ve talked to enough people that were there, I won’t name names of executives in the company that I know — Seth was paid to stand up. I’m confident of that. If the commission wants to talk to me, I’ll tell them what I know."

So everyone is a cross over WWE fan? and your all about boxing cos there is no "gay ass rolling on floor or hugging" a guess as well?

Well wat about the countless amount of boxers who have said they would like to try MMA, Foreman said he would love mma to be out when he was young cos he would have given it a try, Cintron said he would fight on UFC against Sean Sherk. You closed minded ****s have to understand this is not fake fightin, boxing is boxin, MMA is fighting, its everythin it really is a test to see who the better figther is, boxing is a test to see who the better BOXER is. Dont get me wrong you put 95% of MMA guys into the ring, they will get beat by a boxer, but if you put 95% of boxers in the cage, they get beat alot quicker...

If Tuf wouldn't have gotten all those cross over rasslin fans, the UFC would also be dead by now.

Yeah, I guess im a cross over rasslin fan. Back when I was a little kid, I thought rassling was real in the days of Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior, and Andre the Giant. But then the UFC came along in the 1990's and I was intrigued, I just kept renting UFC 1, 2, 3... on VHS format. It was pretty cool to see a sumo get his nose broken by a guy smaller then him. It was like the movie Bloodsport, and it amazing seeing martial arts truly at work. I finally outgrew the rassling stage.

I hope those EliteXC talent get another shot with a different organization.

Damn he does have a point. I hope Golden Boy doesn't do the same cuz I really like MMA also... it kinda gives boxing promoters a bad name since boxing has had some fixes in the past. Makes me wonder now which fights Gary Shaw has fixed in boxing.

Dana White wanted to become a boxing promoter and comes from a boxing background. The way he ****s over fighters he should shut the **** up already and concentrate on building up those Ex WWE superstars.

 no more elite xc, i thought there woulda been a virtual party on here now that they're gone :beerchug: no more of the Shaws or Kimbo a great day for MMA.
now the actual fighters like Diaz, Lawler, Shields, Silva and Alvarez don't have 2 play second fiddle 2 a hyped up youtube fighter.
Im sure the doors are open 2 alot of these fighthers over at the Dream/Sengoku promotions in Japan or even the UFC where i'd like see a few of them.
Kimbo will probably welcomed with open arms over there in Japan as well where he can continue his freak show fights with the likes of Bob Sapp or ButterBean or maybe even Akebono....either that or jeff monson can finally get ahold of kimbo an make him tap, he'll most likely have 2 say goodbye 2 his 500,000 payday though.
Diaz and Shields would make a great addition 2 the UFC's WW division plenty of great match ups there for them, Lawler could b another fight for Anderson Silva b4 he retires, and big foot silva would b another good addition 2 the UFC's HW division wouldn't mind seeing him fight Gonzaga.
have a beer on me lol :beerchug: here's 2 better MMA coming along.

No way - a UFC competitor with a TV deal was a good thing...it's a shame it was poorly managed

And even if most of the fanbase is ex-WWE fans, I want those type of fans in MMA. Because all those fans that left the WWE can appreciate a great fight. They left because there is no quality wrestling in the WWE in the first place. They can understand how submissions work and they appreciates the history and connections.

MMA sucks!!

MMA is oversaturating itself and alot of people were jumping on the MMA bandwagon. after a while people will get tired of it. MMA sucks anyway.
