My point is you gave a gift because you wanted to and were under no pressure to do so. Chris Chringle/Secret Santa, whatever you want to call it changes that. You sign up for it and no longer is a present just a nice gift, it is EXPECTED. It changes the whole nature of gift giving and I think the people that participate in it often sign up for the sole reason of RECEIVING rather than GIVING. Does that make sense? - J.
