View Full Version : Fedor Emelianenko vs. Mark Coleman, Pride 32
ABOSWORTH 10-16-2008, 01:07 PM I just watched this fight last night. Have any of you guys seen it? Fedor pummeled Mark's ass then got him in an arm bar. At the end of the fight he was all beat up and he told his daughters that he was okay. Then the daughters go in the ring crying and worried about their father while he is doing the post fight interview:wtf: I don't understand why he would have his young daughters not only witness this but then have them on TV crying and terrified. Fedor said sorry to the frightened girls. How awkward that must have been. That was a completely ****ed up thing for Mark Coleman to do.
Discuss..
Spare Moody 10-16-2008, 01:17 PM i agree. even though they know what he does, there's no reason for them to see that at that age.
RisAri0 10-16-2008, 01:50 PM Boxers do it all the time though. I think its the confidence that goes along with it. Its human nature for all of us to celebrate with our loved ones after an achievement.

I've never seen a couple of 10 year old girls in a boxing ring bawling their eyes out after their father got the ever loving shit pounded out of him. Coleman was 42 at the time of that fight, he probably knew he wasn't going to win. It was like a set up.

and that part i understand but you never want to have your child witness their #1 male role model getting pummeled. at that point you're really just putting your own pride over your kid's well being.
i dunno. i guess if the kid really wants to see their dad fight then you should forbid them. but i think a good sitdown explaining what can happen if you don't win should happen. who knows, maybe they do.

Even with that aside, having the kids crying in the ring on TV after is just kind of a ****ed up thing in itself.

and that I understand. I also understand that what these fighters do for a living is to provide for their family so in turn I think they would want them in attendance. Also seeing their family at ringside gives them that edge I believe. It was tough seeing Miguel Cotto's family cry like that after seeing their husband/father get a beat down. But just as long as they know "daddy may end up hurt in the process."
Its hard to say if I was in a fighter's shoes would I want my family at ringside. Its a double-edge sword.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just found it odd that he made a production out of it and brought them into the ring for his post fight interview.
Fedor is a ****ing beast!!!

the exception of course being that epic moment when Barry Bonds' son was bawling after the Giants lost the World Series to the Angels.

Nodogoshi 10-16-2008, 10:22 PM I didn't really find it ****ed up personally.

It doesn't have to do with age. Have you seen "Beyond the Mat"? Mick Foley's WIFE doesn't seem too pleased with what she's watching.
There was a boxing bout on Showtime one time too...can't remember who it was, but they kept flashing to the wife who was wincing for 12 rounds

Shit did you see Vitali Klitschko's wife last weekend? Vitali was utterly dominating and she looked like she was going to start sobbing in terror at any given moment.
