I think i had a concussion not sure. I got hit and fell to the ground and blacked out seemed like 1 second past when in reality it was more like 8. I didn't spar for a few days after that.

He hurt me for the next day but i took 3 days off just to be safe. And once i returned i didn't spar for an additional few days.

if you even think you have a concussion do not spar. you can develop something called second impact syndrome and it is likely that it will kill you. look it up because it's a risk all boxers should know about.

When it comes to serious things like this, asking random people on the internet is the wrong idea.
Talk to your coach and/or your doctor.

Look I don't want to sound mean but just about everything on this thread is incorrect. If you are going to box I would suggest that you get a baseline cognitive test. After a concussive event you go back and get re tested when you reach 80 or 90% of your base line score it is ok to go back to contct sparring. There is no one who can say that 3, 4, 5 days is enough to recover.
These test can be taken online, this is one company that offers them http://www.impacttest.com/
these test measure reaction time and brain speed on thought processes.
Under stand that the proper term for a concussion is mild traumatic brain injury. BRAIN INJURY this is not to be taken lightly, second concussion syndrome as pointed out can cause death
I have no relationship with the above company. My background is custom mouthguards www.customguards.com we research concussion and concussion prevention, through the use of our guards.
