Who here thinks Yoshida has a shot at beating the Axe Murderer? I'm probably in the minority, but I think Yoshida might have a decent chance, especially if the fight goes to the ground. Yoshida's a very bulky guy, and his strength is often overlooked. The gi helps quite a bit as well. Yoshida knows how to use his weight and his gi to smother his opponents. If Silva overlooks Yoshida and takes him for granted, we might be in for an upset.

If it goes to the ground he's got a chance, but I don't think it will.

Silva by KO.

Yoshida's takedowns come from the clinch. There is no way in hell that Yoshida is gonna get the underhooks without getting KTFO.

Unless it's worked on the ref or judges end.

If Yoshidas timing is just right, and he can absorb a punch and/or a knee or two, he's got a chance at clinching with Silva. Silva won't be wearing a gi, so Yoshida can't use a typical judo takedown though. I'm not a huge judo fan, but it seems they always use the gi for takedowns. If it goes to the ground, it's lights out for Silva IMO. I'm actually picking Yoshida for now to win the whole GP. That may change.

If it goes to the ground Yoshida has the advantage. That being said, it's not going to the ground, Silva will KO him early.
