I don't know where you got the info on stuff being expensive but that's wrong I can tell ya. Australia is actually quite cheap compared to America. If you're an American tourist visiting Australia with the currency conversion it's especially cheap (almost 2 for 1). Also, the Canadian dollar and Aussie dollar have almost the same exchange rate for the US dollar, so bear that in mind. - J.
