View Full Version : The Game or Young Jeezy?
fasman 09-25-2008, 04:33 PM I've heard L.A.X and The recession, both shifted around the same numbers..
Eventhough his supposedly last album doesn't live up to its previous efforts,
The Game-L.A.X > Young Jeezy-The Recession..
What do you lot reckon?
reedickyaluss 09-25-2008, 04:34 PM jeezyyyyyy
BEHEMOTH 09-25-2008, 06:21 PM Jeezy any day of the week.
reedickyaluss 09-25-2008, 06:22 PM standing ovation
Kobe Bryant 09-25-2008, 06:37 PM I'll go with LAX. For the simple fact that I haven't checked for Jeezy this album, and at the moment don't think I'll do so anytime soon. At first I thought this was going to be who is better lyrically. But we know the answer to that.
MILE KITIC 09-25-2008, 09:50 PM lax.......
fasman 09-25-2008, 10:23 PM Dont know why but most of Jeezys beats on The Recession sound the same...
Except for Hustlaz Ambition, Put On and IMO the best song on the album Vacation, the rest sound average, nothing special...
th4l3pr3ch4un 09-26-2008, 01:25 AM I **** with jeezy... deffinantly...
but The documentary, The Doctors advocate, and LAX
as opposed to
Thug Motivation
The Inspiration
and The recession..
i think its a pretty clear cut winner...
THE GAMEEEEEE
same goes for mixtapes...

This is like saying "we're going to give you a circumsion now, do you want a single Alleve or a single Advil"?
I'll take LAX...the instrumental version...

Wow. You must think Game belongs in the top 25 worst rappers. The lyrics on that album were pretty good in my opinion.

No, he doesn't belong in that group. But he's a paint-by-numbers rapper, and even when he's a little more complex stylistically, he sounds like he's reading out of a VIBE or an US magazine. There's rarely any substance to what he says, and he honestly sounds like he just watches EXTRA and recaps it over a beat...that's my main beef with folks who overrate him. He's got a nice sound, but there's not much there once you look at it closely. That's just me; I know Game's got some big fans on this board.

Daaamn, a bit harsh, i must say..
Both albums were pretty good, the production on L.A.X was crazy as you'd expect with a Game album, Jeezy's was not as good but was still pretty average and had a few tight joints...
They are not known for their lyrical abilities but i thought The Game did mix it up a bit...

Yessir... I made it a point to listen to it when it came out because of the hype. I guess I should clarify by saying true substance or saying it lacks heart. It's too paint-by-numbers for me, too gimmicky. Game's gimmick is "I'm a thug, I'm West Coast, I'm a celebrity - here's 1,000 other people's name that are in the same club, and here's a bunch of the themes I heard on West Coast records growing up..."
I have similar issues with respected artists Spice 1 and B Real/Cypress Hill for not being very versatile album after album with their subject matter...
-Antonio- 09-27-2008, 06:43 AM I'll deal with Game's name dropping over Jeezy any day of the week.
