In Fight night 3 when i parry a haymaker my opponent cant do nothing for like 5 sec, that gives me time to throw my own haymaker and knock him out, how much time do you get in real life sparring?

O.o dfwtx 09-24-2008, 10:53 PM most of the time if you parry a punch you will have a good 5-10 seconds of them with their hands down just staring at you, especially if they are a fisherman FisherMan Henk 09-28-2008, 09:27 AM can anyone give me a normal answer without childisch bul****. i realised if i play with james toney, jermain taylor, ... it's easier to parry. It has to do with them fighting in the philly shell stance, im gonna fight like that to in real life cause im more of a counter puncher. dfwtx 09-28-2008, 10:19 AM worst alt ever, it really has zero value outside of your original post, you should probably make a new one mightymouse2k 09-28-2008, 12:19 PM In Fight night 3 when i parry a haymaker my opponent cant do nothing for like 5 sec, that gives me time to throw my own haymaker and knock him out, how much time do you get in real life sparring? long enough.... You should try your "fish hook" on him P.S. I've only come across maybe 5 people who throw wild haymakers in boxing, they tend to get knocked out quick and don't come back to the gym. Isn't going to do much against a boxer like floyd or pernell whitaker. It means the world in a Myorga/cintron/geroge foreman like fight. and don't say thats gonna be your style because you need to do it correctly and you have to know all the counters and have decent speed. Ryn0 09-28-2008, 06:47 PM Realistically? Parrying is very different from the game. It is rarely used at the top level even then if your fighting someone farely decent you'll proberbly have less or slightly over a second if they are slower in the handspeed area FisherMan Henk 09-29-2008, 10:39 AM I sparred with my brother in law yesterday, i tried the philly shell and it's pretty damn hard. Anyone got tips for how to fight in the philly shell stance? FisherMan Henk 09-30-2008, 02:06 PM i tought people would be more helpfull on here rmz 09-30-2008, 02:10 PM Yah, don't use it. You shouldn't adopt anyone else's style when you start boxing. You have to learn the basic and fudamentals. After you get comfortable with that, you will be able to mix things up a little. But for now you need to just learn the basics, forget all this "philly shell" stuff. I wish people would give you more serious answers...this just isn't the forum for that. Half the guys here are just trolls. FisherMan Henk 09-30-2008, 02:23 PM Yah, don't use it. You shouldn't adopt anyone else's style when you start boxing. You have to learn the basic and fudamentals. Young kids of today want to start fly fishing without even knowing the basics. I will talk to my trainer he will tell me what style is the best suited with me Chris46 09-30-2008, 03:18 PM Best way to fight in the Philly stance is just to keep throwing the Fish Hook, don't even think about throwing jabs or any other type of punch cause it wont work!! Try not to move to much either when your not throwing.
