Well I knew this bloke back from a while back, we never really got along. Recently me and him have gone to the same boxing gym together and was alright at first but now hes starting to do my head in! I don't know how, but me and him always end up as partners when it comes to padwork/defense work, when I try and find another partner, he just pops right up or the coach puts me with him (as we are similar height). When we do padwork, he doesn't do as the coach asks, he just does his own thing laughing, when I ask him to step forward, he steps like really big forward. I don't think hes trying to intentionally annoy me but I got a fight in 16 weeks, and I wanna learn and train as much as possible, not treat the boxing gym as a circus. I reckon I'd batter him in the ring, talent wise I got the upper hand, power wise he edges me due to his build, but only slightly. :chairshot

I admit what I did today was slightly embarrasing and I ****ed up, cause the coach told the gym to just do foot movement around the heavy bag, and when he says "GO!" then just throw a flurry of punches at the bag. First time everyone thought he mean't jab the bag, second time I was the only one who jabbed it... (cause I'm thick as hell). The guy started shouting out comments like "NOW!" to piss me off. :(

A long time ago, this dude comes into the gym and signs up and looks hard at everyone. He was around my age and just mugged the **** out of my friend and I. He thought he was the toughest **** because he'd come in dressed like a ****ing cholo everyday. Finally after a couple months of the gym, the trainer put his ass in the ring - with me, for his first time actually sparring. It was a humbling experience for him to get jabbed in the face every time he would try to do something. I'm not a mean guy by any means at all but the guy was swinging for the fences at the opening round. Ever since then till the day I left he was cool with everyone, really. Seemed like a completely different dude. He actually ended up going to the same high school as me for my senior year and we became pretty good friends.

Maybe the dude at your gym just needs a big hug. :luvbed:

you wouldn't prove anything by fighting in the gym in my opinion..if hes gonna talk sh*t to your girl..then you can either ignore it (ehhhhhh) or confront him..but asking him "lets go fight in the gym so we dont' get in trouble"..doesn't sound to great either..soo ignore it or confront it..then handle it there haha

Ignore him, right to his face when possible; it drive people up the wall when they dont get a rise out of you.

I've wanted to spar with a few people that dont box, merely cause they were really getting on my nerves. I fancied inviting them along and smashing them about a bit, but playing it off as me just having a laid back fun sesh.

I was thinking about being evil, but don't wanna get kicked from the gym/in trouble. :( Also theres that slightly fear he may whoop me at street fighting, but no match for me in the ring. (as cowardly as it sounds).

dont fight him in the gym, just ****in take him by suprise, walk up to the ****er and punch him in the face

size dont matter if u know how to fight, give him a couple straights in the face then wack him in the guts or the balls a couple times, then when he doubles over hold his head with one hand and uppercut the **** out of him, or if u are strong enough u can then throw him to the ground or sum****, then stomp on his ****ing head and tell him if he comes near your gf again you will bring a knife next time

trust me, unless hes ultra brave or crazy, he wont come near you again if u just catch him by suprise and put a beat down on him, the best beatings are the ones they dont expect :nutkick:

Yes i have, i actualy did yesterday...one of the kids at my gym is also at the same campus for me for college and he heard this absolute bs rumor about me and told everyone so when i showed up to train everyone was asking me all sorts of **** and i went up to him and i was like "wtf...is this highschool?" so when we sparred i ended up going alot harder than usual and i ended up beating him like an unwanted step child so my trainer had to tell me to tone it down. The best thing is is to settle in in the gym then outside of it otherwise it could end up with someone else jumping in, getting bottle etc.

yeah, kick the dude's ass in sparring, he might get pissed and pull a knife on you later in the back alley but he can't do it in the ring.

People like Kostya Tszyu44 act like street fighting will always be like school, when you get dropped, wait for him to get up, no wrestling or eye gouging or bottles etc... Man I had a pool cue to my head a few months back. :/

What i would do personally is
1) The guy that is just pissing you off in the gym, i would keep that in the gym, there is no point in taking it anywhere else and just focus on your training, remember your the one that will suffer in the ring if you aint up to scratch,

2) Messing with other peoples women is a no go to any man, may they be a 400lb monster with huge amount of strength that could kill a horse, you will need to take this up to his face like the others have been saying, just surprise him, and the next time you see him with your misses just be all over her and watch his face drop mate :fing26:

today i was made to spar this kid who is 17 and i am only 15. hes bigger than me and has got a more powerful punch. we sparred the first round fine but i think i pissed him off a bit because i moved too much. in the second round he came out throwing bombs trying to take my head off. all of them missed except one, and i went absolutely mad! i beat him around the ring for about a minute constantly punching him in the head, untill he just threw his gloves off and walked out of the ring in the middle of the round! he sat in the changing rooms crying, and when i tried to apologise he ignored me! i wanted to beat him up for ages but i didnt think i could do it! im so happy lol !!

I think I kinda over-reacted, me and the guy I talked about are kinda alright with each other again. He even sympathised me, when I lost this thing in the ring. (not a spar).

TBh I don't like none of the ****ers I spar with in the gym! Even the good ones. Maybe it is a defence mechanism I have developed so I don't have to hit people I like. I don't go to gym to socialise anyway, just train. I only know a few people well in the gym, but none of the guys around my weight!

As long as when you sparring it doesn't go overboard, then what's the problem?
