Roach is tops in the training and interpersonal department. He can tame the wild ones. He's sincere and super honest to his fighters. He's a genuine nice guy too. Tyson loves the guy so much he said this...

TYSON: Ey Freddie, if someone messes with you, I got your back. I'm gonna kill 'em for you.

Yeah, he can definitely tame the wild ones LOL like James "Loud Mouth" Toney and Mike Tyson. Should be credited for JT's comeback wins over Vassily Jirov and Evander Holyfield. Well, Mike's a sad exception though.

Nacho Beristain's got an awesome rep too, having trained Finito Lopez, JCC and now the Marquez brothers.

Yeah! I give Nacho props too. Never underestimate a Nacho boy. He's capable of coming up with a solution to breakdown his boy's opponent. In the JMM and PAC fight, if all of us paid attention to both trainers, we'd notice Roach and Nacho always said the truth to their wards regarding their current situation. I give props to both of these tacticians. Soooo professional!

Definitely Nacho, he trains his fighter old-school style at 12,000 feet and tells it like it is in the corner.

You know I try to keep my cool but you really are a idiot. It must be hard for you to swallow all the pubic hair you must collect in your mouth from sucking on Trinidad's balls sack. Every time I read a post some how you bring the Trinidad's into the conversation. Your Trinidad bashin is totally senseless, and as of yet still haven't proven one thing other than the fact that you don't know **** about boxing.

i have to say Bouie Fisher, the man has a great record with hopkins and is a great game plan maker...he studies fighters real good, he gets to know them in and out. then makes a game plan that seems to work.....

i also like roach, manny, and mcgirt. i would trust my fighter with any of these guys....but my top pick is Fisher...

Mayweather Snr is a good trainer but is not very articulate in the corner when his fighter needs motivation, so i would have to say Roach is the better of the 2 evils.
In my honest opinion the best trainer in the world today is Jim McDonald, he whips his fighters into awsome shape, doesnt take any **** from anyone, he knows what he expects from his fighters and if they dont do as there told there history, he reads fights well and is able to give fight wining advice between rounds...

Thank you for telling me. I know who Danny Williams is. He is famous now for beating Mike Tyson. Danny Williams must be very good to beat Mike Tyson.

I know who Roach is. Roach is the trainer of Tyson. This means Jim McDonald was able to beat Roach. Jim McDonald must be very good.

Sure any ****ing street corner here in Brooklyn. Hope your ready for your nose lift cause I'm gonna spread that wide ass nose of yours to your ears. Jim McDonald isnt even a good coach! He aint anywere near as good as Roach!!!

Williams would be a lot better if he was fighter at the wild card gym.

I'd have to go with Floyd Mayweather SR. hes just such an intense guy

He gets me pumped up wqhen he talks. I like Roy's trainer too alton merkenson I liked when Alton knocked out Norman Stone.

I think the next best upcoming trainer is Buddy McGirt tho.

I'd make Freddie Roach #1, Joe Goossen a close 2nd, and Jesse Reid #3....Emmanuel Stweard and Teddy Atlas are great "gym triners" but they give horrible advice between rounds, same w/ the Mayweather bro's, Aaron SNowell, Kwevin Rooney, etc.

Rooney, Roach, and Goose. All really good. Roach should drop Lucia Rijker and just train men, like Ann Wolfe.

oldgringo
07-10-2005, 05:21 PM
Goossen
Birmingham
Fischer

Those are my picks. McGirt is a great everyman trainer. I think he'd help out any fighter he worked with.

I have got to agree with Knives on this one! Goosen just seems like he is on a different level with his job! While his fighter may not always get the win ('ala Mosley - Wright 2) they always get sound advice and are in the fight. A close second in my mind is Buddy McGirt.

Fritz Sdunek certainly belongs among the best.

I like Roach, but if i was fighting i'd want Billy Graham in my corner, you cant beat a straight talking coach who knows the gym and business inside out.

side note: Buddy McGirt betted on Floyd to beat Gatti. He betted his house and lot. Look at his face afta the fight.

I don't think Steward's heart is in the game as much as it was in the 70's and 80's, but his experience is second to none and there is no substitute for experience. Plus I think he was the most naturally blessed to be a boxing coach. Good ole Manny.

Real tough talk from behind a computer, buddy. Give an explanation as to why you think Trinidad is a ***** as you say. I don't remember Trinidad ever quitting or getting knocked out by an elbow shot. So if you're a De La Hoya fan, I think he has every right to be laughing at you and not vice versa. :D
