i wanna hear from all the boxers who have had injurys to their ribs that takes them outta training for a bit...
i know the main injurys to a rib is
bruised
cracked
out of place
fractured
and of corse broken
when did u hurt it, how long did it take to heal until u went back to sparring and full out training.. and did it make it stronger or weaker ??
im just getting over my 2nd serious rib injury, it feels good , almost can sleep again without any pain... but i just wanna hear other opinions

Fractured and broken are the same thing. Fracture is the medical term for a break.

The last time I was training I got cracked ribs two or three times, it hurt quite a when trying to sleep and in the morning especially. I was told to drink high calcium milk, and products like sardines, that seemed to prevent reinjury.
I can't remember exactly how long it took to recover but I remember re-injuring it the first time because I got back into sparring too soon. I had a small lump on the ribs for quite a while after wards.

Tore the cartilage in my sternum two years ago in an accident at work. I was out of training completely for 6 weeks and out of full-contact sparring for another month after that. Hurt every bit as bad as busted ribs and it took a dog's age to heal.
