I HATE those things but they do a good job.
what you want to focus on strengthening isn't so much your wrist as it is your forearm because thats what's going to keep your hand from bending.

All you need is good old fashioned boxing training and your wrists will get strong enough. Hand-stands, pushups on your fingers and knuckles, working out on the heavybag and all the rest of it will get you in shape.

Yeah, that's right. Press uyps on your knuckles mimicks punching form and will strengthen the specific muscles used in a punch. Your hand will be more stable on impact.

Every post in this thread so far has missed the point completely. If you are having problems with your wrist bending when you punch, you are punching incorrectly.
I have some of the weakest, most girly wrists on the planet and I have absolutely no problems because I punch correctly.
Learn to punch correctly and you will have no problems.

For once I agree, as that is usually the main cause. Many people who hurt their wrists were probably throwing sloppy punches like yourself in your home videos.
But you can still stabilise and strengthen your wrists and forearms by doing knuckle push ups. Then you won't get pains on the occasional or rare (depending on experience) mistimes shots in sparring. I have big man hands, forearms and wrists and if I do hit incorrectly, my wrist doesn't hurt because I is well 'ard.
