It largely has to do with the fact that Royce....and I am going to put this all on Royce for now although he is not the only one... is very arrogent about his jiu-jitsu. Royce believes that he can beat anyone as long as he fights by the old rules. He believes his martial art is superior to all others. That's where is really all comes from. Royce really kinda refuse to cross train for a while because he thought he could win on pure BJJ. Also Royce always wants to fight under the no time limits, no ref stoppage rules as he believes this is the only true way to fight. People hate this because they always think he has to get his way and all this ****. They diss all the Gracies based on their opinion of one of them. People also think that all these Gracie fighters suck and are just living off the Gracie name to make money. They refuse to acknowledge that they are the pioneers of MMA and that they all train very hard and have earned the right to be in the ring. I myself am huge fan of all the Gracies and try to defend them when I can. Ryan, Renzo, Royce and Rodrigo are my favorites but Ralph is looking like a real bad ass too.
