they are often the most exciting to watch, but who was the best finisher in the history of boxing, who had that killer instinct that went into overdrive once they had a guy hurt

by that i mean, when they had their man hurt they went straight down to business and finished them off- no second chances at all

one name that immediately comes to mind is prime tyson

George Foreman. When he was young he and a couple other am's were known as 'the finishers'. Foreman carried that tag well as pro too.

Joe Louis is probably the best finisher I've ever seen.

just for his massive number of ko's i gotta mention archie moore on this one!

just notching up 131 ko's against any opposition shows a real killer instinct for finishing.

jack dempsy tho was a full blown killing machine if he even sniffed that you were hurt you would be in your corner asking what happened.

Tito Trinidad is one of the best finishers in the game. Tito finished like a maniac against ODLH. If only Tito had a 'Big Ass Chin' like the old timers?

Once Smokin Joe got those gloves Smokin, his opponent was in the Emergency Ward.

Lights Out Toney with the way he dug deep against Jirov in the last round and put him on his arse.

Prince Naseem was a great finisher. He only lost because he bottled it!

If there has ever been a better finisher than Joe Louis, I have yet to see him.

Tito Trinidad, he'd hurt even if you were blocked.

Before I had even clicked onto this thread again I was sure I'd see Tito's name. He wasn't the best in my opinion, but its hard to argue he wasn't one of them.

Rocky Graziano should be included in this list, as well as Rocky Marciano

Robinson
Trinidad
Marciano
Foreman
Liston
Moore
Tua
Leonard in a way...

So many of them...

The point about Mike Tyson is that he didn`t wait for the moment to turn that killer instinct on... He started to finish his opponent from the very first second of the very first round

Ali was under-rated in this regard. Although not a big puncher, he would make the most of it when he had a man hurt.
