who do you guys got as champ. i think tim duncan will carry the spurs to the championship but will be pushed to the limit by the utah jazz. the jazz are solid, hard working and very deep. they could surprise people

i think dat the Pistons are going to repeat..but this season is juzt fking amaizing...Hoston, Denver, Miami, Jazz...and the all-star game will be the ****...west with Kobe and T-Mac....the east with Shak and Carter!!!!

Detroit Basketball!!!!

I think Houston will pull it off, if McGrady can stay healthy. T-Mac and Ming can be the next Kobe and Shaq tag team.

Minus the coaching...I think the Timberwolves will be competitors again. I don't see Detroit winning another one.

I didn't like what Phoenix did in the off season(adding Quinton Richardson and Steve Nash), but after having a chance to watch them I can say im impressed. Now thats not a knock on Richardson or Nash both are very good players I just wanted to with a big man like Kenyon Martin to play along side Amare.

There gonna be entertaining all year.

I think The Spurs will take it this year.

Houston might not make the playoffs in my opnion. Ming and McGrady are nice, but they will never come close to aproching Kobe/Shaq type levels. Both Ming and McGrady are soft as opposed to Kobe and Shaq who were both killers. McGrady plays no defense whatsoever and has shown no leadership abilities so far in his career. As far as Ming goes, Do you really want your 7'5 Center standing outside throwing up 15 foot jumpers all day long? Not only that they have NO bench and are very weak at PG,SF and PF.

Seriously...I don't know how many times i'm gonna have to say it. No team has a better starting 5 than D-Town and nobody plays better defense or TEAM basketball. Rip has the best mid-range game in the league. Chauncey can flame the 3 ball and is a rather big/strong PG. Ben Wallace doesn't need to be spoken for because he's just a friggin beast. Tayshaun Prince is young and is only getting better...plays sound D and can stroke the long ball. Rasheed Wallace is an offensive force when he wants to be and can D up the best of the West PF's because he's 6'11 and his arms are so long. The only competetitive teams will be the T-Wolves and Spurs. The Pacers have only gotten worse and Artest is unhappy. The Stonners have shown that they can handle the Diesel and have plenty of big bodies to throw at him. And we have Dunkin Darvin Ham. :D

Detroit is my pick, they are just too talented as a whole.

But I am interested to see what Shaq will do for Miami. I think the Lakers will drop, I don't see Kobe making the other team members better the way a Jordan did, Kobe is out for Kobe.

The Fix

i think detroit slipped under the radar last year and wont repeat now that everyone is gunning for them.I see a san antoino vs indiana final although it would be cool to see timmy d vs snaq in the finals. utah crushed the lakers yesterday 104-78 boozer had 27 and 11 while kirilenko had 16 points and 8 blocks kobe had 38 of the 78 of the lakers points, talk about being a hog. the lakers only shot 26% from the field as a "team"

i give the utah jazz a couple more years before they go to the championship. The spurs will take it this year.

I like uthah but its up in the air really
i agree that the suns made some nice moves and is a big man away from being a serious threat to win a championship
but im quite sure the west rep is gonna take it this year

The Fix

I like the Mavs, they may have lost a great point gaurd in Nash but they finally got some D in Eric Dampier. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they come out of the west and take on the Pistons in the finals.

IMO they have a an equal or better team than last year. they finally got a center and two good points in devin harris and jason terry.btw did anyone see okafor in action? i only seen the highlights on sports center in which he looked good.

I'd like to see the Pacers finally get there. It looks to me though that the Spurs are the smart bet. And why not the Pistons? There's a handful of teams that could legitimately win it: Indiana, SA, Detroit, Miami, Minnesota, Dallas - maybe by the end of the year Denver and Houston will emerge too.

Remember Miami was one of the worst teams in the league to start out last year and they ended up winning a playoff round.

Man the raptors beat up on the pistons tonight and the pistons didnt look bad they just got out played. GO Raps

garretrevels
11-06-2004, 01:32 AM
he kept them in it the first of the first quarter
pistons went on a early run
rose scored six of the raptors first eight
he ended up one six raps in double figures

The Fix
11-06-2004, 11:20 AM
^^^^ good i like jalen. how bout the spurs they also defeated the lakers while tim duncan had i think 26 and 14. indiana and ron artest look very good ,its begining to look like its artest's team. looking back on that trade with the pacers and bulls at firts i thought the bulls won but its not close pacers just by getting artest won the deal.

garretrevels
11-06-2004, 12:12 PM
no deffinatley the pacers came out on top of that one they got brad miller from them too. to bad he didnt stick around there

The Fix
11-06-2004, 02:07 PM
brad miller is good if they had him o'neal could play o'neal at power forward.
this would be thier starting lineup if they had him and reggi was healthy

miller
o'neal
artest
reggie
tinsley...........good lineup they would have had 4 former or current all stars.

He will run the Rockets. He's a selfish player. I like the Rockets but the T Wolves will win the west. This is KG's year. The Kings got the skill but they've had their chnces the past few years and have blown it

The Fix
11-07-2004, 02:04 PM
i dont think the kings are contenders but just when everybody starts sayin stuff like that they come up big.as for the rockets t-mac needs to share with yao in order to be successful.

garretrevels
11-07-2004, 04:13 PM
raptors go to 3-0 with a win over Portland
its the first time in team history they've went 3-0
now they go out west for a tough 6 game trip
after that we'll see if they are for real

kings are not one of the elite teams anymore
rockets are only gonna get better, they looked good last night.
utah, all i can say is wow and kiralenko is a machine
sun are the surprise in the west
but whos gonna beat the spurs?

The Fix
11-07-2004, 06:21 PM
utah is rollin right now 3-0. they are beating thier opponents by an average of 24 points  kirilenko blocked another 8 shots and has 21 in three games  boozer is averaging 24 and 12 damn they look good. they are executing perfect team basketball.

Ouch, 26th out of 30 teams.

The knicks are the only sports team I root for that I haven't seen win a championship. They won it all in 70 and 73 but I didn't really become a fan until 1974. :(

Saw my Yankees win it all in 1977, 78, 96, 98, 99, and 2000

Saw my Giants win it all in 1986 and 90

Saw my Islanders win it all in 1980, 81, 82, 83

Saw my Gators win it all in 1996

Saw my Tar Heels win it all in 1982 and 93

1994 Should have been my the year for my Knicks. I blame it all on the murderous scum OJ Simpson. The Knicks were winning in game 6. Then the tv switched away to the Simpson chase. I understand that they even shouwed it on the Jumbo Tron in Madison Square Garden. By the time they switched back to the game the Knicks were losing.

I was born and raised in New York until 4th grade. By then all my sports alegiances were firmly in place.

I moved to Florida with my family and ultimately attended the University of Florida.

My parents attended UNC at Chapel Hill, where they met and were married, so I was raised a Tar Heels hoops fan.
