I think it should be Franca vs Ludwig for a LW title.

Ludwig beat the former champ and a VERY good lightweight in Genki Sudo. Franca just K.Oed Uno who fought for the title. Then after B.J beats the shti out of Gomi, he gets a shot at the winner

That could make for an interesting fight. I didn't see the Uno vs. Franca fight (as many of us didn't.) But for those of you who did, what did Franca's stand-up game look like?

Carlao got the call right after the fight happened.

Hermes was gettin beat in the 1st pretty much the whole time.

When the 2nd round started you could tell by lookin at him that he knew he had to turn up the heat.

they came in traded a bit and went to the clinch Hermes hit a belly to belly dropping Uno on his head Hermes mounted and started to punch Uno, Uno got up and as he did Hermes landed a straight righting KOing Uno. Uno was outcold ofr over 10 min not moving they had to take him out on a stretcher.

Bang and Genki will fight again, winner gets Hermes for the title.

I just got this from MMAWeekly.com

its the PbP of the Hermes vs Uno fight

Caol Uno vs. Hermes Franca
The first round started out fairly quickly with Uno being taken down and landing in Franca's guard. Uno was very effective in the first round with a solid ground and pound game. Uno was punishing Franca with lots of strikes from the standing position in the guard which seems to be an increasingly popular tactic. He also was connecting with some solid kicks to the back of Franca's thighs.

Round two was pure action. Franca came out quickly and dropped Uno with a kick to the head. Following him to the ground, Franca attempted an arm bar but Uno was able to escape. After working back to the feet and clinching, Franca executed a nice high hip toss, landed in the mount and started striking.

Taking too much punishment, Uno turned to all fours while Franca continued to strike. He was able to get to his feet, but had his back to Franca and continued to take some hard hooks to the head. Uno turned to face Franca, ate a big right hand and dropped to the canvas where he remained on his back for several minutes before regaining his senses.

Franca wins by knockout, round 2.

they must really wanna just bury the whole lightweight rank. it's pretty unfair to franca who's worked his ass off to get this far, only to have an awesome ko against a major competitor not even ****ing air.

Bang and Genki will fight again, but not so soon

Bang should fight for the title. He is the best choice right now because there simply isn't any other clear cut choice that isn't already fighting (that being Penn)

Ludwig and Franca for the UFC LW title

It will be shown in Japan. Well it was sapposed to be.

They wanted Uno to win so they would have more hype for there Japan show.

First- I told you mothafokas that Hermes was going to sub him or KO him!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy for him, hell we all are!

Second- You guys have to understand that things are said in the heat of the moment and no fight is set untill contracts are signed an dfighters in the ring. That is all!

Oh yeah! ATT, ATT, ATT, ATT!!!!

Sad to see my man Uno get knocked out again...I hope he recovers well and gets back.

Franca looks really strong at 155. If you've seen pictures of both standing next to each other, Franca is a lot bigger. The guy must cut a lot of weight.

IMO, I think he and Ludwig need to throw down to decide who gets a shot at Penn. That's assuming, of course, if the UFC doesn't abolish the lightweight class.

Fallout

IT would make no sense to get rid of the lightweight class. There is so much talent there

Carlao

mmafanman- Hermes hardly cuts any weight to make 155lbs. He used to fight at 145lbs and holds that title for Hook&Shoot.

Uno is a good fighter, Hermes is just better.

Curly Howard

and all this doesn't matter because a healthy Javier Vasquez would run through the UFC lightweight division

Thanks for the info. I guess Hermes is really put together then. He's built like a tank.

He's still got unfinished business with Alberto Crane.
