View Full Version : Its War Time! Time For Katsidis To Do His Thing!
Dick-Sucker 09-06-2008, 03:39 AM The drums are getting closer. Only a few hours away now. Until the guy with no regard for human life gets in the ring. Here are a few quotes to get you in the mood from the presser.
"Im willing to die in that ring tomorrow"
"If my heart was big enough, i would give it to the entire world".
Boom! Katsidis Time! Boom!
Im still favouring Juan though. Damm it.
Macho Madness 09-06-2008, 07:20 AM kats got this, or he'll end up in hospital lol

Nice sig man! Did you make it?
I love Katsidis, one of my favourite active fighters. I favour Diaz in the fight, But I am rooting for Katsidis all the way!

Salty 09-06-2008, 03:48 PM One with the heart of a bloody semi trailer
xcaret 09-06-2008, 05:58 PM Katisidis is a true warrior, but he will lose to a much more skilled Juan Diaz, expect a war.

Clegg 09-07-2008, 12:19 AM I was hoping for wins for Khan and Katsidis. Not a good night really...
Salty 09-07-2008, 12:31 AM What were Kat's corner doing? And how did a judge have kat winning? Was watching a different fight to me :S
Clegg 09-07-2008, 12:35 AM Yeah, I think his corner did a bad job. Their gameplan wasn't the right one, and when it clearly wasn't working, they acted as if it was.

I bet on Katsidis! I thought that was a very un-Katsidis like performance.
Salty 09-07-2008, 12:41 AM Exactly, he should have changed to an all out brawl and see if Diaz could have kept up with him, or anything else. He said he was willing to die in the ring, he probably would have too if the fight kept going and he didn't change how he was doing it :(
Dan... 09-07-2008, 01:45 AM I think Kat did us proud. He fought hard and I think he did better than most are giving him credit for. He lost with class too, which is more than what can be said for his cornerman.
mgkirkpatrick 09-07-2008, 03:47 AM He put it on the line as always. Must be hard to fight without a corner.

On the line? He didn't brawl. He tried to box. He played it safe in comparison to his other fights.

What is going on there? Even in the post fight interview when his trainer was spouting **** Kat had this look on his face like "shut the **** up". No way Mike thought he won that fight.

I would hardly have called it a tactical boxing match though. there were plently of stages in the fight where they were exchanging hefty shots.

Sigh. Anyone who throws more punches in a fight than Juan Diaz has had a go. He tinkered with his style a bit, but he still let it all hang out.

Frustrating. I don't know what to say. Every round, 'Breath. That was great. Keep working your jab.'
I don't know what to say.

He needs a new trainer, I've said that since last year.
Salty 09-07-2008, 07:29 AM He sure does, otherwise he isn't going to go much further :(

I love Kat but I'm not sure he can beat any of the top LWs at the moment, plus that division is stacked. Is there any way he could go up to 140 you think? I see that division as way more shallow and give him a better chance against top guys in it.
Clegg 09-07-2008, 09:14 AM If Casamayor loses to Marquez, it's possible that a rematch with Katsidis takes place. If so, a win in that fight would put him back in line for a fight with one of the top guys.
KostyaTszyu44 09-08-2008, 06:50 AM he should have drawn diaz into a war
it would've been hard on his body but i think he could've lasted longer than diaz
Katsidis needs to ditch his trainer and fast. I couldn't believe what his trainer was saying to him in between rounds, telling him that he was doing "lovely" when clearly he was losing. Whoever said they can't believe how Katsidis can fight without a corner I second that. I was impressed though that he actually attempted to use a jab but along with head movement but regardless he was still getting tagged. I think after the 6th straight round of losing that he might have reverted to his brawling style but why should you if your dumbass cornerman is saying everything is savvy. If Katsidis comes out with that fool in his corner for his next fight, expect his career to officially end that night. There is no way he can take on the big dogs with that moron behind him. He has incredible potential and he needs someone who knows how to help him cultivate it and use it to his advantage.
P.S. Katsidis was extremely classy in defeat. I was upset that people booed him in the post fight interview. I don't care if your hometown hero wins, when someone who just fought there heart out and lost can still stand up and give credit to the other guy that respect should be returned.
Salty 09-08-2008, 09:23 AM I think they were booing his trainer more than they were booing Kat, he was very gratious.
ColWallace 09-10-2008, 07:20 PM I was at the fight and the crowd was disgraceful all night. They booed all the travelling fighters, not just Katsidis. They were Texans right down to the bone. No class whatsoever. It had nothing - NOTHING - to do with Brendan Smith saying he thought Michael won the fight.
