View Full Version : Why I'm so scared of sharks. Bluecifer 09-25-2003, 07:33 PM I don't think he'll dance again... http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-2/99785/legbite10b.jpg realkaps 09-25-2003, 08:05 PM Yeah, **** the ocean...... Bluecifer 09-25-2003, 08:31 PM I'll still go in there, I'm just scared ****less of sharks. I even have a recurring nightmare about them. Fallout 09-25-2003, 08:32 PM I guess your not a big fan of bears ethier realkaps 09-25-2003, 08:34 PM Bears aint really that scary. But I wont go in the ocean, the furthest I go into the ocean is to wash my hands off after bating my hook when I am fishing...... Bluecifer 09-25-2003, 08:35 PM For some reason I'm not scared of bears, I guess if I found myself between a momma grizzly and her cubs I would **** myself, but I just don't think about them. I grew up surfing though and once saw a 3 foot gray fin come out of the water so I guess thats why I fear sharks more. Tom 09-25-2003, 08:37 PM i love the ocean but i am scared ****less of sharks too. I was in the ocean during the summer and i seen 3 brown fins or whatnot in the wave, i ran my ass off, but i believe they were just skates. I got out and walked down the beach and there were a bunch of sting rays close to the shore.. realkaps 09-25-2003, 08:40 PM I've been shark fishing a few times, mostly for leopard sharks which are not really that scary, they only get about 5' long and dont have teeth. But I hooked a 7 gill and when I pulled it out of the water it started biting its own tail, and freaking out. That was pretty freaky..... Tom 09-25-2003, 08:41 PM did u drop ur pole? I would dropped that **** in a heartbeat realkaps 09-25-2003, 08:43 PM I didnt drop it, I put it back over the water and my cousin cut the line..... Bluecifer 09-25-2003, 08:44 PM When we saw the fin, there was about 20 of us(and remember this central cal where the water is cold and there are lots of seals) No one said a word, everyone just turned around paddling for shore while making deals with God. Also, surfing Pismo Beach by the Pier they sahrk fish every night and pull all sorts of **** out of there. Mostly threshers and dog sharks but I still didn't like it. Fallout 09-25-2003, 08:45 PM I live no where near any salt water. So sharks aren't big on my list. Only thing in nature that would scare me would probably be a....siht nothing really. Nature just doesn't bother me too much Tom 09-25-2003, 08:45 PM ive been out fishing in the ocean once...and i yaked all day and didnt even cast the pole once.. realkaps 09-25-2003, 08:49 PM I've yet to be sea sick. Blue, Pismo rocks! Bluecifer 09-25-2003, 08:52 PM Pismo is cool, was a great place to grow up but I lived there my whole life and went to kindergarten and college within 20 minutes of each other. I miss surfing, my family and friends alot but am still glad I moved to Portland. I love it here. realkaps 09-25-2003, 08:55 PM I guess it wouldnt be as cool since you lived there your whole life. I used to love going down there with the quads. Been a few years...... Meet everyone Bluecifer 09-25-2003, 08:59 PM I will, I was gonna try to make it November but now it looks like I'll have to wait till December for my 2 weeks off. I'll spend most of it with family, but I'll make down to LA for a weekend, it's just a little under 4 hours away. Fallout 09-25-2003, 09:04 PM You can see where g-man and Charles threw up nance 09-25-2003, 10:08 PM You guys are scaring me. My daughter (#1) loves to surf. She would live in the ocean if it were possible. She also loves dophins. :) But the sharks and stingrays are another story. She was stung by a ray this summer.....then it got infected. nance 09-25-2003, 10:12 PM Originally posted by Blue Dawg For some reason I'm not scared of bears, I guess if I found myself between a momma grizzly and her cubs I would **** myself, but I just don't think about them. I was just a kid, but I remember the momma going from car to car looking in the windows and my mom screaming and my dad yelling "take the picture, take the damn picture" She never did. What's going on in May? Are you coming to town or something? Curly Howard 09-26-2003, 01:27 PM yeah Bluecifer 09-26-2003, 01:28 PM Than I will. I can easily take a little time off with this much time to plan it Mr. Howard. Curly Howard 09-26-2003, 01:29 PM YES!!!!!!! Bluecifer 09-26-2003, 01:32 PM Originally posted by Curly Howard YES!!!!!!! :) Bzob 09-26-2003, 01:38 PM I am scared of lakes and oceans for that same reason Bluecifer 09-26-2003, 01:41 PM Uh....there's no sharks in lakes Bzob..... Whoremaster B 09-26-2003, 01:46 PM BZOBOWNED!!!!!!!!!11111 Bzob 09-26-2003, 01:46 PM no, but there are schools of minows and pike and the like and the cray fish never look happy to see me Tha Playa 09-26-2003, 02:10 PM Bull sharks can live in freshwater, but it is unlikely. I never worry about sharks when I'm in the ocean. Worrying doesn't do any good as far as keeping one away from you. Bluecifer 09-26-2003, 02:12 PM I used to put wax on my surboard called "shark repellent" and in little letters it said that if attacked by a shark you were entitle to a full refund for the price of the bar of wax which was 75 cents. I thought that was kind of funny. Squezze 09-26-2003, 04:20 PM We don't have too many sharks around here. Just the scattered dogfish and basking sharks. We do get a scattered hammerhead shark every now and then. HockeyFighter 09-28-2003, 01:19 AM No sharks in my neck of the woods. Of course I live inland.
