I had one quite bad yesterday, Got me a bit worried but i hadn't been sparring so i was ok. drink more water, before, during and after. d_lyrik803 08-29-2008, 03:01 PM only get them after taking some goods hits in sparring, but very rarely because of training, but yeah drink a lot of water and probably some sleep right after. Spambo boy 08-29-2008, 03:03 PM Anybody get, Had these? I had one quite bad yesterday, Got me a bit worried but i hadn't been sparring so i was ok. I used to, when I was about 18 I used to train and hardly eat anything and used to get intense headaches whilst doing pressups. It used to **** me up so I stopped doing it. It's likely to either be diet or hydration. RonRoss 08-29-2008, 03:06 PM I eat perfectly and drank LOADS of water, I drank a litre whilst training and a litre like half an hour after, Maybe that's too much? I might ask my doctor about it if it happens again, Not worth the risk. Paardekopski 08-30-2008, 03:39 PM I also get the occasional headache, but it's always after I've taken a beating.. Also, if you're concerned about dehydration, you might want to drink water several hours before training (if you're not already doing that). It's hard to drink too much water.. Spambo boy 08-30-2008, 03:40 PM Drink lots of beer, it always helps if you get a beating. the_painless 08-30-2008, 06:38 PM hey be careful. get some water into you and get some into you before workout too. I have had some serious issues in regards to dehydration before and it's scary! I remember recently after a workout I started seeing white spots in my eyes, i got a sharp pain from shoulder blade to shoulder blade along my back, my heart started beating really really fast, i was struggling to breath and i got pins and needles in the fingers! My vision didn't return to normal until about 30mins. after i stopped- if i had thrown my head up and down quickly i would have feinted for sure. Sure enough i had a bottle of water in front of me before my workout but got preoccupied and forgot to take some. The same thing happened to me about 2 years ago to. Don't **** around with hydration- get some fluid into you. Headaches can be an indication you didn't hydrate T.I.P. 08-30-2008, 06:59 PM Simple cure is keep ya hands up. I have never had them. sukhenkoy 08-30-2008, 10:05 PM Simple cure is keep ya hands up. I have never had them. What does having your hands up have to do with headaches? markeeta 08-30-2008, 10:22 PM What does having your hands up have to do with headaches? Man! And you were the one who thought I listened to Stomin's posts being read out through my ipod during sparring... i'm starting to form a conclusion. Hands up = better defence = hit less = less head injuries = less pain in head area = less headache. sukhenkoy 08-31-2008, 12:12 AM Man! You can form all the conclusions you want, but if the original poster said he hadn't been sparring, I was curious to see why P4P mentioned holding your hands up. I can walk around with my hands up all the time, look like a tit, and still have a headache. Read the original poster's post more carefully next time. markeeta 08-31-2008, 12:17 AM markeeta, I realize that. I'm not here to hassle people it just seemed funny the way I read it. sukhenkoy 08-31-2008, 12:21 AM yeah, that is definitely true if you take that into consideration. Hes getting his ass kicked severly. KostyaTszyu44 08-31-2008, 04:45 AM hmm headaches after sparring are a bad sign ( btw i know the thread starter isnt getting headaches from sparring just pointing it out) ive taken some hard shots in the ring ,from bigger guys too, and ive never had headaches (but then again i like to think ive got a pretty good chin and im reasonably tough lol) so if youre getting them, its time to pay the doc a visit or better yet, improve ya defence, seriosuly keeping hands up between punches is basic but it works i used to drop my hands a bit and rely on head movement and reflexes which didnt always work...... and now my new coach has got me keeping my hands up all time (especially inbetween punches as thats when most ppl get hit) and adopting a turtle shell winky wright sort of guard, i hardly ever get hit, it works really well Talon 08-31-2008, 09:41 PM once i had it so bad, i coulda swore a vein in my brain burst and i could feel a pool of blood rolling around in my skull.. that happened when i got pushed a little too far too soon. when youre doing pushups and you really strain hard and hold your breath it seems unhealthy. if all the veins in your head and neck pop out the ones in your brain are probably exploding peewee1460 08-31-2008, 09:49 PM if you get them after you work out you should probably talk to your trainer and to your doctor. a caution about the doctor, he'll just tell you to stop, get a reason.
