View Full Version : Boxing on British TV thread.
Sir Tom Jones 08-28-2008, 10:56 AM Thought it would be a good idea to have a single thread where people can post in boxing TV listings in the UK.
I'll start off with one for Saturday, T97 mentioned it in another thread
In case you didn't know, The Valuev-Ruiz fight will be shown live on Nuts TV this Saturday. Starts at around 7PM I think.
:boxing::boxing:
chrismart83 08-28-2008, 11:12 AM Cheers mate ,didnt know they were showng the fight. Nice one.
The Iron Man 08-28-2008, 12:42 PM Is Nuts TV free with sky digital?
Nicky_Hatton 08-28-2008, 12:57 PM Yeah think so, it's under entertainment and most have that.
ESPN classic, on sports I think channel number 442 shows some boxing occasionally, but not live or new. Most probably already know this though.
Patty Tanager 08-28-2008, 02:08 PM ****inell!, good find, thats the last place i'd expect to see that fight live.
Sir Tom Jones 08-28-2008, 06:19 PM Nuts Tv is available on Freeview also.
If anyone has any other tv listings could you please post here.
chrismart83 08-28-2008, 06:25 PM Just seen this on the Setanta website:
CALDERON V CAZARES
The rematch between Ivan Calderon and Hugo Cazares for the WBO Light Flyweight Title will be live on Setanta on August 30th.

ESPN Classic shows things like ringside with ali/tyson. Classic fights, biggest rivalries, sugars top 10 heavies... its a pretty good channel.
Don Gorgon 08-29-2008, 11:03 AM didn't see a point of starting a new thread for this so I thought I'd dump it here, David Haye is doing an open forum in Rotherham on September 1st.
http://www.bluecoin.co.uk/hayemaker/graphics/Hayemaker1_f.jpg
Hayemaker Boxing invites press and members of the public to attend an open forum on Monday, September 1st at the Holiday Inn in Rotherham.
Kicking off at 12 pm, this unique event allows the press and public alike to quiz key members of the Hayemaker Boxing team ahead of the promotional entity's inaugural show on September 20 in Sheffield.
Eager to form a close bond with fight fans, Hayemaker feel this forum presents an ideal opportunity and platform for fans and aficionados to have their thoughts heard during an intriguing time for British and, indeed, Hayemaker Boxing.
Scheduled to appear at the conference are Hayemaker Boxing supremos Adam Booth and Dave Coldwell as well as Hayemaker boxers David Haye, Ryan Rhodes, Josh 'The Outlaw' Wale and Curtis Woodhouse.
On September 20 at Sheffield's Hillsborough Leisure Centre, hometown hero Rhodes will meet Scotland's Jamie Coyle in the first defence of his prestigious British light-middleweight title. Chief support to Rhodes' title defence is an intriguing British featherweight title eliminator between Derry Mathews and Belfast's Martin Lindsay.
Also appearing on the card will be the one-two Yorkshire combo of Wale and Woodhouse as well as ex-British champion Tony Dodson, unbeaten John Watson and pro newcomers Michael Maguire and Leon Williams.
*** For more information on Hayemaker Boxing and the September 20 'Rhodes-show, contact the Box Office on 0114 256 56 56.

TRAVI$ 09-03-2008, 09:54 AM Anyone know what Channel the Diaz & Katsidis fight is on?
Don Gorgon 09-03-2008, 10:29 AM Audley's still up for it - SSN link (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12183_4089939,00.html)
Audley Harrison is ready for one last hurrah - and is adamant it will bring a world heavyweight title.
The Sydney Olympic gold medallist is looking to kick-start his career again when he takes on George Arias on Saturday, live on Sky Box Office.
It is not the first time Harrison has had a point to prove, as he himself admits, but he is still confident he can come good and back up his amateur success in the professional ranks.
You could say I had the Midas touch - everything I touched turned to gold," he told Sky Sports.
"And then things started not working out as well as I liked in terms of the outcome. But you've still got to look in the mirror and be the same positive person.
"The ability is there, the talent's there but things haven't gone my way.
"Now do I sit here and cry over spilt milk? Or do I get myself back up and dust myself off and try a different way to find my goals?"
Principles
That different way has meant teaming up with one-time adversary Frank Warren.
Harrison has abandoned the self-promotion policy to side with his old nemesis but says that just shows how determined he is to make the most of this latest chance.
"I've had to change my principles to some degree because I want to achieve my goals so much and my goal is to be a heavyweight champion of the world," he said.
In his way stands Brazilian heavyweight champion and former world cruiserweight challenger George Arias, who has only been stopped four times in 41 fights.
And although Harrison has been accused of freezing in the big fights and failing to seize the initiative, he has promised Sky Box Office viewers an explosive performance.
"I can assure you, once I've figured him out, I'm going to let go all my arsenal on him," he said.
"Against the odds, I'm going to deliver it. My slogan is: Yes I can! Audley Harrison is going to deliver a world title."
go on son!!!!!!
chrismart83 09-03-2008, 11:22 AM Anyone know what Channel the Diaz & Katsidis fight is on?
Dont think its on TV in the UK. Looks like Setanta are showing UFC at that time.
Anyone know what Channel the Diaz & Katsidis fight is on?
Not on in the UK :(
abadger 09-03-2008, 02:27 PM I hope I never have to watch another live fight on Nuts TV ever again. The commentators are beyond retarded. At one point in Ruiz - Valuev they got into an argument over how to score a round following a points deduction. Tools.

I didn't hear that as I think I just zoned out due to having to watch 2 of the worst fighters in the sport (actually Ruiz wasn't hugging as much as I expected) but I remember during the Scott Gammer fight, one of them said "I broke my hand in every boxing match I had".
Who was that? And why did he pick a career that he was obviously not at all suited for? I'd like to look him up and see how many fights he had before accepting that boxing just wasn't going to work out for him.

There ya go, dawg. He had 9 fights, losing 4 all on points. Never KO'd anyone and was never KO'd.

No worries mate. I know him from Eurosport. I can see why he gets on people's tits but I think he's OK, although his scoring on Saturday was miles out.
Clegg 09-04-2008, 07:43 AM Yeah that might be it, I've watched Eurosport a few times, it's the only chance I get to watch Herbie Hide!

Yeah Eurosport's worth keeping an eye on, they have some decent fights on there but they are a bit hidden. They showed Roy Jones vs Prince Badj Ajamu and Calzaghe vs Mario Veit 2 when no one else bought them.
