I know there's a few of you here, so what belts and what weight class is everyone?

Also too, how long have you been training for?

I never did buy a Gi...so technically I'm below a white belt, but I've trained for almost 2 yrs now. I weigh 198lbs (still a hawg-I know, will get down to my normal 185lbs soon I hope).

I'm thinking of buying a Gi soon tho and tearing up some white belts in some Gi competitions......or would that be like cheating?

white i guess. i didnt take the test, i dont train Gi. i've been training no-gi bjj on and off for the last 1 1/2 to 2 years or so. i have an easier time tappin out bigger guys, around 215-250lbs coz of my small size. i would comfortably say that i have a freaksih strenght for my size (normally 155-170lbs), but at 145 lbs i would destroy...... by strenght at that size....... i would definately have a hard time fighting between 170-210 lbs. coz those weights are just quick, strong as hell, and the most competetive.

that is all.

I'm a blue belt and have been training for about 1.5 years.

I weigh around 179 when not cutting weight but sometimes I'll compete at 169.

When I started BJJ I weighed 208... LOL

Good luck with that dude! What was your secret to shedding the 50lbs?
Those 50 were probably the easiest to shred man... the next few will be the toughest tho!!!!

my drive was fighting a real sr heavy who was built like a superheavy.

I do not have a frame to hold all that weight.

I upped my meals to 6 a day and i worked out hard and often

Over the summer was key I trained full time (4-8 hours days) and ate really healthy.

I did that too, for a "before and After" body-for-life contest. Got down to 176lbs and was pretty shredded. It only took 3 months of following Bill Phillips(body-4-life guy) to do it. The training was only 1 hour a day , but you had to eat 6 small healthy meals a day to do it.

I'm gonna do it again this winter and hopefully get down to at least 185lbs b-4 I even think of competing again.

I've trained for 5 years this November, purple in BJJ, Brown in Judo. my usual weight is 210lbs, and I really do not care for fight weight, I usually compete at the heavier weight class anyways. Too many guys from the same gym in a weight bracket, besides is a good challenge.

However I'm back in a training program to increase performance so I'm sure I'll lose some wieght.

What exactly are the rules for Shootfighting???

Carlao

Shootfioghting is usually MMA with out strikes to the face on the ground or no strikes to the face period.

However, now a days some people call MMA Shootfighting.

Our shootfighting class is all about BJJ and wrestling.....

Oh! Ok that makes sense now. I sort of knew that Shootfighting has been mistaken for MMA often, that's why I asked about rules.
Thnx for clearing that up!
