That power bomb is out of control! It just looks wrong. I could not beleive the heavy leather ate and stayed with it...

Also Don Fry got PWNED by LaBanner.

I saw these fights live and have not watched them since...but I forgot how powerful those 2 fights were.

Frye caught a case of the retarded trying to fight K-1 with LeBanner, That powerbomb was nice, that fight proves that Fedor hits 20 times harder than Sapp because Nog was able to shake off all of Sapps punches. First time I watched it I was yelling for Nog to stop shooting......

Yeah, that Frye-LeBanner fight was a severe case of Pride mismatching (which is nothing new). Sapp hung in there for a bit with the world's best heavyweight at the time, but he gassed pretty badly and got caught in a sub. I think Nog had Sapp in about three or four triangles, and each time Sapp was able to lift Nog up, drop him and break out. That was a pretty incredible fight.

Oh yeah, and who could forget about Arsene vs. Sak. What a joke that was.

Joke or not, I bet they made big money, ya think?

I noticed lately than some Pride fans are calling some fights works now, do you think it's true or just big mismatches?

Sapp is heavily criticised all the time for various reasons, and whilst I agree the guy has no place in K1 I strongly belive Sapp can be a force with MMA rulles- how many people can fight like Sapp did against Nog?

He is just big and strong, no real skill. Erickson would own him.....

Anyone big and with very good wrestling ability would beat him I admit, so Fedor, Coleman and Erikson probably yeah. But I am sure Sapp could still beat plenty of top heavies (ie Herring, Schilt, etc etc)

There's gotta be about 10-12 Pride fights that are either A) very suspicious such as the last Tamura/Yoshida fight. B) are thought by most to be works such as Coleman/Takada, or C) such an obvious work that Pride won't even put the fight on the DVD, such as Takada/Otsuka.

It dosen't seem to happen as often anymore, except when Yoshida is involved.

Sapp vs. Nog = one of my favorite fights ever. That fight is what I represents MA and MMA for me. Using skill and heart to beat a physically superior opponent. That powerbomb was brutal, but I thought that when Sapp landed that big knee to nog's face when he was going for a kneebar looked worse to me(**** fedor hits hard, he broke Nog's cheekbone bad enough that they had to put a steel pin in it). Not as flashy, but damn it looked ouchy...Frye getting KO'd looked like a such a painless thing...he was still punching than he just crumpled. Gnarly.....that's what I've always thought of as a real KO.

Yeah, that card was pretty stacked. And how could you forget Royce vs. Yoshida?
