I made this thread for everyone to post their favorite lil wayne songs. I used to always say "**** weezy" and "**** commercial rap" but lil wayne had such a strong buzz going...a little over a year ago i finally checked his music out. I thought some of his sh!t was wack and i still do but hes also made alotta great music and i cant do nothing but give him the props he deserves. Hes very versatile...he makes music for everyone. Your first instict was correct - Li'l Wayne is wack as ****. Just the latest in the long standing rule of thumb that any rapper named Lil or Young/Yung is usually basura ("garbage" to my gringo speakin' peops).

Props to him for strong record sales, but mainstream success doesn't always equal quality. Any boxing fan will tell you as much the moment Floyd-Oscar and 2.4 million buys is brought into discussion

One of my favorite Wayne joints is Money on My Mind. Just an ill song all around. Carter 2 is one of my favorite albums to ride to in the whip.

Really enjoyed Tha Carter II, thought Carter I had some sick tracks on it and really enjoyed Carter III. I think all three Carter editions show his growth and change in his music, great trio of music from Wayne.

In my opinion his quality of music was good and Bad, When he was younger in His Da Block is hot days, and 500 degrees, I wasnt feelin him, I really thought he was wack. The Hot Boyz were good when together.When I heard the First Carter, I was amazed cuz I can listen to that **** from start to finish.I Felt that the the Carter's 1 and 2 showed that he Spit Hot Lyrics and Hot songs. I liked about 65% of the Carter 3. I liked his Concept songs in there...But The Album over all I felt that Hes Shifting towards the Pop Fans little By Little. Im not a huge Fan of the T-pain Voice Bull****(even tho it sounds catchy on some songs.At the end of the day Hes Doing Him and I cant hate on him. As An Artist he came a really long way and probably proved 90% of hiphop fans wrong.Back 10 yrs ago I would never picture Him being on Top Name in the industry.He really Kept his name Relevant and in the Mix By Being consistant with his mix tapes and he build the Hype on the carter 3, I really thought it would be his best work But It didnt Live up to it By my standards. Damn I kept going I'LL leave it at that.

Tha Carter II is Lil' Wayne's magnum opus and will remain his magnum opus forever. With that said, he's not as bad as some people say he is, but at the same token, he's not as good as other people say he is. He's a good, not great artist...just leave it at that.

Those two are easily the best tracks on the album. There's only about 6 songs I still play from Tha Carter III. The rest I've forgot.
