hug yourself to stretch out the muscle. then ice it until you can't feel the pain. I have that same pain for years and just found what works.

Put the hurt arm across your chest, put you other arm under the elbow and pull it towards you......

Put your hands together, like interlace your fingers, put it behind your head and have someone pull down on your hands......

Another way is to hang onto a doorway, one with something to grab onto, and "hang" from it.....slowly.....I've had my shoulder pop doing that and pain relief followed.

Another suggestion she gives.....take a towel and roll it up lengthwise and put it on the floor. grab another smaller towel and roll it up too. Lay on the towel where it is on your spine with one end at the top of your back, but not on your neck. Place the smaller towel under your neck to support it (perpindicular to the first towel) Drop your shoulder blades to the floor with your arms straight out and your knees bent. Lay like that for about 15 minutes....it will take time, but it will feel better later. Do this anytime it starts hurting, but before it gets too bad. Let us know if this worked.

Lay on your backside, with your spine resting on the towel. It makes your chest go upward and drop your blades to the floor.
