Basically while bumping the Wale Mixtape About Nothing, I was thinking who is Hip Hop's most creative artist? Now this doesn't include just mic skills.. Now I understand some Mc's are just that Mc's. They don't produce or whatever, but I am saying overall who has the most creative energy for me I narrowed it down to these three guys right now...

3. Lil Wayne-

Regardless if you can't stand the guy or if you love him. He is damn creative. Setting the formula to push a million plus in the first week was a long process. Flooding the mixtape scene, being featured on every track known to man and creating a buzz through the most powerful tool in hip hop...the internet. His leaks of the original Carter 3 followed with all of his mixtape work set the stage for the mega sales of Tha Carter III. Now he may not carry the substance of a Common or Talib, but he took a dope, unique approach to his raps. His martian like approach, just spitting whatever comes to mind while switching lanes at 100 mph, makes for some chilling verses and retarded word play. Now add that to his dedication for the game and his great ear for picking beats and you have one of Hip Hop's most creative mc's... Going from Tha Carter II to being called Jay-Z's "heir" by Jigga himself is pretty damn impressive.

2. Jay-Z- -

No one does it like Jay Hova let's be honest here. His catalog of music is unmatched in hip hop. He always brings the heat and has an incredible fan base. Jay is almost 40 years old now and continues to re invent himself album after album. Look at the diveristy.. Kingdom Come to American Gangster in a 2 year span. His ear for music is silly, and Jay knows whats all aspects of hip hop wants. With Blueprint 3 on the way and Kanye behind the boards... you can almost give it 5 mics. Jay-Z is creative beyond hip hop but in this thread what counts is his fantastic music he has been giving us for years.

1. Kanye West-

No matter what you call him. Kanye West is ultra talented. From The College Drop Out to Graduation, Ye has gave us 3 superb albums. He has not only grown as a dope MC but also given us some of the dopest hip hop production ever. Kanye is a marketing genius (see 50 cent vs Kanye West). He knows what sounds grab the ear and has the hunger to make fantastic long lasting music for all listeners. He may be an ******* to some, or have a huge ego, but Kanye in my mind has been one of the dopest artists I've ever been witness to. I can't predict what is next for him, 3 albums = 3 different sounds. What will Blueprint 3 look like? What will his new album sound like? The possibilites are endless.

Havoc - despite what people think of mobb deep as a group havoc is one of the best producers ever. Hes still on point with his beats and hes better lyrically then kanye west.

Ill give honorable mention to kanye since hes a great producer. In my opinion hes an average rapper with a good flow. Also ghostface killa...at this point i consider him the best story teller in the rap game. Its like its effortless to him hes so good at it.
