View Full Version : Official PS3 vs Xbox 360 vote...
Don Corleone 08-09-2008, 12:24 PM The next gen systems have never failed to amaze anyone. And the biggest competitors are Sony's PS3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360. Two huge brand names, two solid systems. This battle goes as far back as PS2 vs Xbox the original. I have a PS3 and I think it's great. The greatest features I like are the free online play, the exclusive games, the great blu-ray player and the handy web-browsing which comes useful when my computer doesn't feel like working. Also, the new sixasis controller is great and looks impressive when noting what you are able to do with it. But the let down's also come with online play in that there are far too many kids and not much people take it serious and there isn't much technical support when needed. The great exclusive game for this system should go with Metal Gear Solid 4.
On the contrary, Xbox 360 requires a fee for their xbox live online feature but it has great technical support, and I heard you feel more comfortable playing with mature people rather then annoying little kids since serious gamers will rather pay to play. They also have more games to play with which is really great. But the bad part is the reliability and how the system can easily break down with previous versions of the xbox 360, but recent improvements have shown better dependablity and a better built overal system. The exclusive game for this system goes to Halo 3.
Both systems having stunning graphics so that cannot be argued. But based on overall performance and overall features, which console do you think is better and gives people more enjoyment over the other considering what it has to offer. Post why you like one over the other...
peewee1460 08-09-2008, 12:31 PM I love fight night round 3 on the ps3, but the system sucks.
Sox8055 08-09-2008, 03:05 PM ps3 it has multiple features than the 360 I have both and I feel like selling my 360 alrdy
Clegg 08-09-2008, 06:34 PM My personal preference is for the 360. I have owned the PS3 for over a year and the 360 about 4 months.
Exclusive games: 360
Halo 3, Bioshock, Command and Conquer 3, Bully and Prizefighter>Resistance and Drake's Fortune
Controller: PS3
Lighter, and I'm more used to it.
Other things: I like the achievements on 360. I like that I don't have to download an update all the time. I like that the PS3 has a hard drive and free online gaming. I dislike that us in the UK have to wait longer for demos.

The 360 gets used round here most as i already have dedicated Blu-ray and SACD boxes in the main room.
Hideo Kojima productions on a Japanese system.
Japs own electronics. Always have.
them_apples 08-10-2008, 11:27 AM the ps3 by far, It seems like a system form another generation.
the interface trumps the 360's I'm even liking the games better.
suprisingly i like the 360 controller better, it has better thumb stick placement.
Don Corleone 08-11-2008, 12:38 PM Keep the votes comming. Everyone who posts on arcade should post on this. Where the 360 fans at...I thought they outnumber the PS3's...
I say the PS3. Just like the Playstation and Playstation 2 the PS3 is eventually going to beat the 360 and the Wii once the price drops and more game companies start making games for the PS3.
Don Corleone 08-17-2008, 12:09 AM PS3 is still leading...
LoloChivas 08-17-2008, 12:15 AM 360 I Dont Like The Ps3 That Much. I Like The Controller For The 360 Better, I Cant Get Use To The Ps3 Controller..and Most Games That I Like Are For Both System And Some Only For The 360 (halo), All Other Games That I Have Are On Both Systems.
Left2body 08-17-2008, 12:16 PM Sony has a much longer life cycle for its consles than Microsoft. 360 unlike the PS3 is middle aged and has more years in its past than it has in its future.
PS3 is a more reliable piece of hardware with a much lower failure rate 3% as opposed to MS 30%. PS3 online is free and while not as good as XBL the gap has closed so much that now its mostly nitpicking i.e. in game music.
Not to mention the web browser, blu-ray player and FREE customization of backgrounds. These same backgrounds cost you $10 a piece on XBL.
Cost has closed so much that it is negligible. $400 gets you a PS3 and lets you play online. $350 gets you a 360 & XBL goldmembership and allows you to play online.
The exclusives are the most subjective of the comparisons. It really boils down to what you type of games you prefer. Some like Halo type of shooters (I dont). I prefer the COD4/Rainbow6 type shooters so Halo doesn't matter to me. I dont like FinalFantasy and only have a passing interest in MetalGear series so those didn't really matter to me either.
However in past games like NCAA Football series and FightNight series a person with a PS3 was able to download onto a thumbdrive a full roster or well made fan created fighters. You can then upload them to your PS3 as saved game data. While NCAA now has that feature built in, the PS3 still has great potential with that feature.
Don Corleone 08-31-2008, 11:44 AM The PS3 is still in the lead with 20 votes...And with more games comming out (even exclusives) for the PS3, I think more people will start to buy this system...
