it's amazing how pryor acts after the fight,.
RMAcero 08-07-2008, 09:58 PM Hawk was a true champ, inside and outside the ring. Manny Pacquiao reminds me of Pryor, ferocious and relentless during a fight, but caring and generous when it comes to issues outside the ring.
MANGLER 08-07-2008, 10:02 PM Pryor is a cool cat.

That looks like Kimbo Slice in the background.
Mr. Ryan 08-07-2008, 10:38 PM That looks like Kimbo Slice in the background.
Thats Tony Tubbs.
withoutthee88 08-08-2008, 12:21 AM Arguello shouldn't have swore to God.
Thats Tony Tubbs.
AKA Kimbo Slice?

I don't consider it as amazing as I do professional and classy. As brutal as boxing can be, its a sport. These guys eptomized everything that is good about it throughout their careers without belittling one another with petty trash talk. I wish more fighters were like them today.

I think pryor was a little crazier than pacquiao.

Oh yeah, forgot about the crack, roids, and alleged abuse. But still, Pryor and Pacquiao = respect.
Reggie Miller 08-10-2008, 09:03 PM Oh yeah, forgot about the crack, roids, and alleged abuse. But still, Pryor and Pacquiao = respect.
crack? roids? wtf?
1. pryor was on cocaine...FACT
2. there is no proof that pryor used steroids (not that i heard of)....FACT (and please don't use the black bottle incident/controversy.)
the 2nd fight proved everyone that pryor beated arguello WITHOUT the 'BLACK BOTTLE'.
RMAcero 08-10-2008, 10:11 PM You're right, it has never been proven that Pryor was ever on roids but it is a dark cloud that lingers over him, thanks to Panama Lewis. And he did run into trouble with the law a few times after he allegedly abused members of his own family. But still, Pryor was a ****in monster and that fact can't be denied.

that is correct, that was during his cocaine days.
even after his first loss he continued knocking out opponents until he was forced to retire in 1990.
If pryor never had touched cocaine he could've retired UNDEFEATED.
RMAcero 08-10-2008, 10:48 PM Still can't believe how Pryor had to go through two years of treatment for doing the snazz pipe. ATG, for real. Long live Hawk.
Reggie Miller 08-11-2008, 01:55 AM He was caught by the crack/cocaine epidemic of the 80's.
alot of people got into that ****, just like arguello. :nonono:
BennyST 08-11-2008, 03:41 AM Yeah, it is sad that there are not more professionals in the sport like these guys. I'm honestly so sick of the little trash talkers. It doesn't add anything especially when they are too dumb to do it with any flair, which nearly all are.
Arguello and Pryor were great guys. Tszyu is one of the few who remind today of those guys. Respectful and professional in every area of the sport.
Reggie Miller 08-11-2008, 06:44 PM agreed.
tszyu is pretty good but i guess the hatton loss crushed his career
RMAcero 08-11-2008, 06:56 PM Tzsyu vs. Mayweather/Cotto at 140 could have been a tremendous fight maybe about 3 years ago. Mayweather has serious skills, but nobody just scared the crap out of you like Kostya.
Kostya was in many ways a throwback to guys like Pryor, a true pro.

After seeing this Jab, I actually agree with that. You know we've disagreed about that in the past lol. But this was nice to see.

Thanks Joe, I appreciate you saying that!

Agree totally..today Pryor would have been handled better and his career probably would have been more lucrative and significant.
Royce
Reggie Miller 08-16-2008, 09:27 PM if pryor had went to the olympics & win a gold medal + with that style he would be a world wide phenom.
