I believe the term "christian" would include all religions that worship christ.

Catholics differ from Christians in some key areas. In general they're the same, but they aren't.

Please no irreverance around the catholics please... thanks.

oh ya, weather your catholic, christian or whatever and if you wear a cross.... that has nothing to do with whats going on here. Were all sinners, some more then others that said we are all hypocrites. So instead of Judging everyone the idea is to love and forgive if you dont your life will be very bitter and you will never grow as a person as you always look at everyone else for their faults of hypocracy and never yourself.

Dont talk **** about christians, catholics, muslims, jews any of them because they are like everyone else, human, made in gods image but still sinners which we try to grow and avoid and become better ppl.

That is all

What is religion? ... Long ago the elders and wisemen on a village came together to discuss what could be the best way to control the rest of the population. They decided that the best way was to create a set of rules and regulations that will keep them in line; and the judge and jury of the violators would be non other than God himself. Therefore religion was "created".

Unlikely some people in these forums, I do not think that God and Religion go hand to hand or that you can't have one without the other.
Being spiritual is completely different from being a religious person. That's all.

No, we made god in our image and pretend there is some sort of big cop in the sky because people are too cowardly to admit that we or our loved ones could die anytime and that there is not a goddamn thing we can do about it. When we die, we are worm food. There is nothing after this so called life. I do agree to a small extent that some religious folks do generally want to be better humans, but I find them in the vast minority.

Thats your belief, i mentioned the religions i was talking about, and i said the idea is growth to be a better person. I dont go around blaming and bashing religions though as the primary intent of MOST religions is for good things.

Just dont bash the us for what we choose religiously.... and its always a couple bad apples that ruin the bunch or make the rest look bad.

I wasn't bashing anyone, I was merely bashing religion. Some of the people I love best in the world are Christians, I just can't help but feel that religion causes FAR more damage to humanity than it helps. Almost all wars and much discrimination is based on religion. I just believe that we would be better off if we simply accepted life and death at face value and behave in a moral fashion becuase it makes for a better society and not because some old man with issues is threatening us with the hellfires of eternal damnation.

Religion is man's law. Christianity is God's Law.

That is a fact.

There are various religions, all with different "rules". Christianity is all the same the world over. Everyone that is Christian basically believes in the same things about God. Even the Koran is similiar to our Bible. It is when religion enters that there is discord.....I am married to a Catholic and I'm not one. Much discord.....we stopped it by acting more Christian like instead of religion like. Makes for a much happier marriage. :-)

Until God calls me on his cell phone that has metaphysical roam, I stand by all my statements. BTW, is God all powerful? Is he powerful enough to create a rock to heavy for him lift? If he can't lift it, than he's not all powerful. BTW, please don't be offended with me madcrewmom. Part of me wants to believe.

great question maybe you should ask him as those sorts of circular questions that cannot be answered by humans will never be answered by humans... so why ask us???

your answer will come either in this life or the next

I am not offended at all. I firmly believe that one day you will believe. That is my hope for all of mankind, no matter "who" their God is. That is the belief of a "real" Christian. I love mankind, just not what they do. I am a sinner like all others. I am far from being the person I want to be. But I keep searching, trying, loving, praying, and improving. All that God asks of you is to believe in him. And you will have His unconditional love.

not just believe in him but to follow his simple rules as well.... which really is pretty difficult even though you can look at them and say its easy... but its not easy.

Its funny everyone bashes religion... which in most ppls minds automatically points to christians and catholics but if the world followed the simple 10 commandments there isnt anyone on the planet who could say the world would be almost perfect
