Trrmo 07-31-2008, 07:17 PM You know its amazing how mindless consumerism makes people desire an item because its got some brand name written on it. And the price doesn’t reflect the quality, its just people are led to believe through marketing that if I wear brand X I am a certain type of person, with X personality and X amount of money and success.
And to think that most of the corporations that produce the brand basically only give a **** about making money, no matter that workers are paid slave wages so they can put money into the pockets of those who are already rich, or the environment is polluted or governments are corrupted to put in place policies friendly to the corps.
Not only they make ridiculous profits, you are actually PAYING THEM to give them free advertising by walking around with X brand on your shoes/shirt/sunglasses!. Mega advertising budgets pay marketing companies to make people think success and their product are same thing. The purpose is to turn people into eager consumers who concentrate of superficial material things by actually taking seriously the brand of their ****ing footwear. And if you really do give a **** then the marketing campaigns have really done their job.
A good pair of boots is great, shoes arent shoes anymore they are ****ing personalised - hey have ya seen the new Jordans? basketball really has alot to do with boxing too dont it?
Thats my rant anyway

No offence but you can have nice clothes that look good and are well made that arent some big brand name and still feel good. You can still have style and individuality. Heard it said its not what you wear but how you wear it.
But I see anyone showing off clothes and shoes with expensive brand names I think how pathetic, a person who is sucked in by marketing bull**** that needs to get their self esteem from a brand name. Says to me someone who cant think for themselves and who is mainly interested in the superficial!
PunchDrunk 07-31-2008, 09:00 PM The top ones look like they ripped off the Everlast ones if you ask me. They also look like they have a similar sole, which means they're an actual boxing shoe, which the old ones weren't.
supRa 07-31-2008, 09:07 PM ohh yea those r the once de la hoya used when he fought mayweather how much r they???????/300+

let me know how they feel dawg i was thinkin of gettin them in the mid cut. what kind you get?
d_lyrik803 08-02-2008, 12:53 PM i got the mids white on black, i wore them and they feel pretty good but hvnt used them in training. they also sent me a huge catalog from Title along with the shoes which is kool, even though it looks like Title is targeting a lot of MMA fighters, actually theres plenty of pics of MMA fighters and not one boxer lol
if you got nike shoes at home and not sure what size to get, go by what nike shoe you got, basically sized the same. i say it because sometimes shoe companies end up making shoes half a size or more than what they really are.
Fernando Torres 08-03-2008, 12:19 AM Sports world have good sales: I picked up some black Tygun's for training at 17.99! I also got very rare cream Tyguns for fights at 44.99. Adidas are the best, end of.
IBFHvyWtChamp 08-03-2008, 12:46 AM I am wearing the Hydrolast lo-boot from Everlast. They are very comfortable and very easy to move around the ring with.

do they have good padded foot support? or are they like most other boxing shoes on the market that are really wrestling shoes but given a new name as BOXING SHOES to sell them for more money and same quality(usually ****ty foot support)?

I had a pair. They didn't last very long. I blew out the stitching on the side of my lead foot in about a month. If anyone ever makes a boxing shoe that comes in different widths, I'll buy stock.

You don't want a padded shoe for boxing. Think about what would happen if you hit a heavy bag while standing on a trampoline. Same idea, less obvious result, but the physics is the same. A shock-absorbing sole reduces your punching power, if you're punching correctly.

but I kinda need a shoe with support because I have super flat feet and If my feet are not padded or comfy in a shoe then my feet start to hurt like crazy. I am in need of new shoes and the 3 shoes on my radars are
Everlast hydros in lo
Nike machomai mid
or the Air jordan boxers(the tall all black ones)

Use a flat shoe with an arch support, maybe? I really do believe that you're giving yourself a disadvantage by going with a springy shoe.
I don't understand why boxing equipment companies are now marketing cushioned-sole shoes; maybe their R&D departments are staffed with guys who don't box.
