Ive been reading quite a bit about Frankie Gavin in the paper. They say he's pretty good, though I hear he may actually die of starvation before the olympics actually rolls around.

Read the profiles in the ABA magazine that they send to carded fighters. He looks like the winner from the pack with his world title an all.

Yeah he looks like a favourite, he's already stated that he's going pro after the olympics no matter the outcome. He's a lot older than Khan was though, in fact he is older than Khan is now!! I think he will do well, if not in the olympics then in the pro game.

looking forward to the boxing in the olympics. There was a run down of the British fighters in the latest issue of Boxing monthly, Khan was giving his opinons of them. Looking forward to it.

All that has changed in UK boxing is money so they don't turn pro at 18, nothing else. They're trying to make out there is so much more talent now which is so not true. I see them getting overexcited again if someone wins a medal like arrr Audrey or the little chciken ribbed Amir.
This bit of a propoganda is a smokescreen for the real problem we have in boxing: unlike other sports (think Premiership academies) the money from the top pro stables does not trickle down to the grass roots. Amateur clubs are in decrepid shacks and there is little or no incentive for pro stables to give a **** about amatuer boxing. Even when they are in same building they are seperated in every way. It is still a a**** grass roots system.
