Damn this would be brutal. I think both guys get their licks in but Dempsey's unmatched body attack would likely be the difference maker as it could take away Rocky's greatest asset in his stamina/workrate.

Jack Dempsey would have the advantage in speed, skill and explosiveness, and he would most likely take control of the fight early on. I see Dempsey giving Rocky Marciano a solid beating in the early rounds, a beating that could force the ref to stop the fight. His superior speed would have him beating Marciano to the punch and his reflexes would help him avoid the crude swingin' punches of Marciano. Adding his great firepower, I see Marcianos chin being tested like never before.

Considering Marcianos chin, heart and deceptive defensive skills, I don't believe Dempsey would be able to take him out of the fight at this stage though. In fact, I see Marciano weathering the early storm to come back with his own bombs a little later in the fight. Dempsey had good stamina and kept much of his power throughout the fight, but Marciano had even better stamina and was even more dangerous as the fight wore on. A good example is the first Ezzard Charles fight, were Marciano threw nonstop, hard punches from a-z during the 15th round.

If Dempsey fails to take Marciano out early, this fight basically comes down to who hits harder and who can take the hardest punches. I would give Marciano the nod in both departments, and I see a battered and bloodied Rock forcing the ref to step in and save Dempsey somewhere in the later rounds.

This fight would be brutal, I think this would be a real toss-up, but if I had to pick I'd say Rocky.

I think Dempsey would win the bout, but it would a brutal slugfest.
