Kempo Chris 08-29-2003, 09:39 AM theres a counter to evrything give some scenarios Fury Dragon 08-29-2003, 10:22 AM Lets say you just covered up from a large combination, and took most of the shots to your arm. When and with what do you counter? I'll think of some more scenarios in a bit. realkaps 08-29-2003, 05:24 PM It depends on positioning and other **** man........ Curly Howard 09-01-2003, 02:41 PM Watch Rick Rufus fight. He counters the kick with a strait left that has KOed a lot of people. Also watch Sylvia vs. Ricco to see a great counter to the leg kick. Rizzo is another guy who has made a career from counter strikes. Curly Howard 09-01-2003, 02:47 PM if a guy is beating on your arms sometimes you can sneak an upper cut in. Usually his arms are down after the flurry so you can get a hook or upper cut in. Just depends on the situation. If you're in a clintch against the ropes try the upper cut or shoot to the body. Fury Dragon 09-01-2003, 10:08 PM Thanks Curly. That's the kind of advice I was looking for. Kempo Chris 09-02-2003, 07:52 PM scenarios- give me something to work with Fury Dragon 09-02-2003, 08:06 PM It's all good Chris. Curly helped out. I just have trouble countering when someone is throwing a combination at me. Otherwise it's not much of a issue. So if you have any advice on countering a combination, or stopping it, I'd love to hear it. realkaps 09-02-2003, 08:47 PM Here is a nice counter..... http://pluto.mscc.huji.ac.il/~msjan/counter.jpg Fury Dragon 09-03-2003, 03:19 PM Hahahahahahahaah VulgarTheClown 09-03-2003, 07:53 PM the more you slip the better off yo uare. also the better yo uare at slipping the more openings you create Fury Dragon 09-03-2003, 08:11 PM Okay thanks Vulgar. I'll put some more work into slipping. Kempo Chris 09-04-2003, 01:36 AM footwork is very important The best defense is not bieng there Fury Dragon 09-04-2003, 10:47 AM Originally posted by Christopher Chaos footwork is very important The best defense is not bieng there I agree, and I have pretty good footwork. But sometimes it's impossible to not be there all the time. astroboy 09-15-2003, 12:25 PM slipping and moving is key like if you can see the opponent constant jabbing or throwing left hooks you can throw counter rights over the top. Most of the guys I fight are taller than me so that overhand right is one my favorite counters. Works well for me! Fury Dragon 10-10-2003, 10:55 AM Well now that I'm in boxing, the counters are coming a long nicely. The only thing that really gives me a hard time is fighting southpaws. Fury Dragon 10-10-2003, 10:55 AM Oops my bad -- double post.
