Of course Rick Reeno has the final say as to who he will ask to be moderators but I wanted to start this thread to let people nominate those whom they think would make good moderators. It would be nice if you could provide a reason as well.

I would like to be a moderator myself but I admit that I can lose my cool occassionally and lash out at those who provoke me.

I think p4p would make a good moderator. I never see him in an altrecation with another member, and he knows when someone has gone too far; Dr._Cynical for example.

For the record Rick is the person who indicated that he would be selecting a moderator or moderators. It's not like I just dreamed up this idea. Regardless of whether some of you think we need a moderator wasn't the question, so STFU. :D

Humm. Sonny would be good although he does get pissed sometimes.

A moderator needs to be someone who isnt too sensitive. You have to have a thick skin so people dont get in trouble for stupid ****. We dont want a moderator who often finds things offensive that arent really a big deal.

I am strongly against moderators! I think interventions are waranted only in very extreme cases, and Rick has done a great job so far.

Some automated moderation, like deleting threads with < N responses in M days, would be fine, however.

But no human moderators, please, other than Rick.

The less regulation, the better.

p4p1986 gets my nod, he seems to be cool with everyone and doesnt seem to sour and stay bitter.

Wez, Is another guy who gets my vote...The only type I have seen him emotional was w/ nicht and I havent seen that guy around for weeks....

I was a moderator on a college football thread I used to frequent for about 3 years. In that time I never banned a single person. There are rules, you enforce them. The rules here are simple and clear: no racial or religious blasts, no ****ographic avatars and no personal attacks agianst family members. You get a few warnings and if you don't shape up you're out.
