collaborate and put together a "best of" mix of Lil Wanye's best work? 25 songs, I must be missing something, honestly. I'll pay you both 5,000 points each.

Maybe Rosewood will do it. I'm too lazy to. All you gotta listen to with Wayne is the hidden messages he says in his rap and how his style changes up in different songs. I guess you are seriously missing something. I hate when ppl overlook an artist because either....

1. They don't get it
2. They heard a few songs they didn't like
3. The rappers demeanor
4. Not open minded
5. Go with the bandwagon crowd( mostly BS)

I actually get Nas, I just don't like his style.

I get his work, just not his fame
I'm pretty sure I've heard the majority of his work, not counting mixtapes
I don't care about him being a guitar playing, cough syrup drinking weirdo
My musical taste is as open minded as can be, minus country music
Bandwagons are for others, not me

I am curious as to what he's done that deserves all of the acclaim is all. I've heard at least 2, maybe 3 of the Hot Boyz albums, still own Guerilla Warfare, used to own Tha Block is Hot, and have heard all 3 Carter albums. It's not that I personally dislike him, I just don't understand why he gets so much praise. If you asked me why Nas gets crazy amounts of praise from every music fan ASIDE from Bandwagon crowds, I'd be able to give a visual list, or his top 25 songs in defense of the praise.

I happen to have a LOT of Weezy's work, here's two GREAT tracks of his for you to check out:

I Feel Like Dying
Show Me What You Got Freestyle

Both different, very good tracks though. Check those out regardless.

:lol1: Right, i think the fact that people think Wayne's puns and double entendres are so clever really gives you insight into how much his fans miss in the lyrics of others rappers that are far more advanced, including ones they claim are "wack".

they say, "no you must have missed that punchline if you didn't think it was dope". No we didn't miss it, we have just seen lyrics that are far more clever from rappers around 20 years ago, much less since then

Those are the most important. Thats what I like most about Wayne. Too bad he can't throw some of that real lyrical **** on the radio. It wouldn't fly.

Clever to me may be stupid to you (and the other way around)...So maybe WE indeed miss things such as punch lines or whatever in flows..

Rose I know people sometimes pitch in ideas and help with a song. But there are plenty rappers who write their own stuff. It has been said by Gillie that he indeed did write for Lil' Wayne. You can not claim to be the greatest if others have wrote you work. It's okay to have other people write your rhymes if you are Will Smith, Bow Wow, etc.

You think someone ever wrote verses for Nas, Jay, Biggie, Tupac, Common, Talib Kweli, etc.?

And I'm not getting what you mean about go off the album cover. And I'm not a fool for answering your questions. No one has wrote an album worth of work for any of those artists.

The fact is that Wayne did not always rap this good period. I'm sure there is some truth to it.

Agree with you about everyone but Jay, listen to what he says in his verse on The Watcher.

Nas' style is too ideosyncratic for another writer to write for him.

It's not that I personally dislike him, I just don't understand why he gets so much praise.

Many of those who praise him as being the best rapper alive, weren't alive when the best rappers were in their primes. Cube, KRS, Rakim, BDK, LL, Kool G Rap, etc etc. You have to remember, most of these younger cats grew up on BET shows, in the late 90s. By then, Hiphop as it was known, was drastically changed from what made you a star in the earlier parts of the decade. Skills over hype.

You think someone ever wrote verses for Nas, Jay, Biggie, Tupac, Common, Talib Kweli, etc.? I personally think EVERY ARTIST has gotten a verse or few from somewhere other than their mind...Even Pac, Jay, Nas, etc....When I say look at the album cover, I'm talking the credits on the back of the cd cover that details who did what for what song..

As for Wayne not always being good, you must understand that artist develop at different times..Check Jay Z!! He was good back in the game but now he's GREAT. He has a way with words like no other..Hell even Bow Wow to dumb it down has developed in a decent artist. That combo with Omarion was his best work..Wayne has just developed. I personally think he studied Jay Z and re worked it to fit him..He studied greatness..

I know about crediting for a song. If you help in anyway they throw your name in there. It's not the same as ghostwriting. And Bow Wow didn't get better. He has ghostwriters. T.I. has wrote for him and JD.

Maybe so but a "ghostwriter" can tailor a song to fit your style..

He would have to be an off the charts genius.

Nas is a genius because he can write what he writes (regardless of whether you like his style, sound or swag) and this person would have to be enough of a genius both to write what he writes, and to get inside of his head to do it.

Lol. Wayne is full of ****.
Listen to Mr. Carter.
That mother****er just kicks random **** that rhymes together.
No subject matter whatsoever.

Yeah
I been in and out the bank *****
While ya'll ******* *****s been on the same ****
I flush 'em, and watch 'em go down the drain quick
Two words you never hear "Wayne Quit!"
Cause Wayne win, and they lose
I call 'em April babies, cause they fools
And when they snooze, We up!
Feet up like a, Parap-liguck
Or, paraplegic? I parallel park
In that red and yellow thing, old school Atlanta Hawk
Like I'm from Colli' Park, but I'm from Holleygrove
Now all my bloods scream "Zoowoo! and Dadda-do!"
I know my role, and I play it well
And I wear it well, on my libra scale
I suck a *****, **** a ***** leave it there
I don't want it, I don't even care

That's the second verse, Vers.
Don't get me wrong. That **** sounds very good, but what **** am I not getting about that verse.

Let's go line for line...

BEHEMOTH

Yeah
I been in and out the bank *****
While ya'll ******* *****s been on the same ****
I flush 'em, and watch 'em go down the drain quick

he hops on new stuff while most mother****ers stay on the same stuff

Two words you never hear "Wayne Quit!"

I don't get that line.

Cause Wayne win, and they lose
I call 'em April babies, cause they fools

He's a winner, the rest are losers and fools.

And when they snooze, We up!
Feet up like a, Parap-liguck

He's up grinding while others are asleep.

Or, paraplegic? I parallel park
In that red and yellow thing, old school Atlanta Hawk

His red and yellow car resembles the old Atlanta Hawks jersey

Like I'm from Colli' Park, but I'm from Holleygrove

Even though his car is the color of the Hawks Jersey, he isn't repping College Park
He's repping where he's from Holleygove

Now all my bloods scream "Zoowoo! and Dadda-do!"

I don't know what that means

I know my role, and I play it well
And I weigh it well, on my libra scale

Wayne was born September 27th - making him a Libra.
I'm assuming by weighing he's talking about drugs.
A pretty clever line.

I suck a *****, **** a ***** leave it there
I don't want it, I don't even care

Self explanitory.
