Nas' Untitled To Be Fifth No. 1 Album

Fueled by both controversy and critical praise, Nas' latest album Untitled is headed for the number one spot this week.
According to Billboard, the rap legend is projected to not only land in the top spot, but has sold approximately 113,000 units as of Friday (July 18) - better than the majority of first week sales in Hip Hop this year.

By comparison, this puts Nas just slightly behind Rick Ross' Trilla, a March release which managed 116,000 by Friday. Whether the Queensbridge rapper's album will topple Ross' 198,000 mark by the end of the week remains to be seen.
Nas' last number one album was the December 2006 release Hip-Hop Is Dead, which sold 354,000 copies during Christmas week.

I would think it matters who has better music, and not who has more money. If that's the case, Mark Cuban > Nas and Weezy

"Now all of yall know my style, I spend dough but i still let it pile"- Nas

The thing is Nas will always have an audience, he had one back when Hammer there was topping the charts in 91', that's what happens when your real and you don't bow to mass appeal.

yea im still workin on that. Nas cds always take time to grow on me. It might not be my favorite cd of the year yet but its easily the greatest. No other rappers come close to nas lyrically....lil wayne and g-unit? Not close :boxing:
I gotta give lloyd banks some credit though, he was nice on TOS. If you dont believe check this song out

You think Weezy just spends? He might have an audience but its a low toned one, but I admit, he does have one. Weezy's is just God-like right now. Nas has never been on that sort of level, he's just been low key.

Yeah , my point is that a comitted low toned audience is far more loyal than a Pop audience that will just dump you for the next big thing, that's why Nas is set for life. lol Wayne better be saving.

I think Wayne does have a deep following. I'm one of them, his flow(Which isn't obviously for everyone) is something special. Of course some years later he will probably not have such a huge following but I do think he'll have a small loyal following some years to come.

res
07-21-2008, 06:37 PM
Nas has never been on that sort of , .

Nas rose to fame in the era of Biggie and Pac, when Hip Hop creativity was at a peak.

Wayne is big in the the era of Soulja Boy and Hurricane Chris.

Wayne has never been on that level (In other words, he could have never competed at that time).
.

Put it in perspective, and put down the hype.

It's like a boxer who went up against a bunch of 18 year old Golden Gloves ameteur fighters and won, compared to one that went 8 rounds with the greatest fighters in history and lost.

When Wayne had "Go Dj" those ****ers weren't even around. NEXT

Lets talk about now though. Either Nas doesn't have that almighty power to sell high and show his artistic talent by letting his music threw even threw all the "so called rap" or Common is just that better then him. Common's style went threw the dark clouds of this music era and succeeded. Even without all that club music ****.

Bottom line...... I don't care if Nas came out in the Stone Age times, that ****er to me is struggling to compete with Soulja Boy. Enough said.
