It's a close war. They are so above the rest. The 3rd spot is far away.

Slight edge to ''The last emperor'' for me.

I need more time to think about it. Maybe I'll go and watch some of their fights from the last few years.

Let's say we had the power to play Gods....right now...tonight.

We take said fighters and mold them into the exact same natural fighting weight with their current dimensions and skills....

We then put them in a ring against each other with no crowd around....there is only one other person on location....and that's a Godlike ref who enforces the rules perfectly....

You then make the fighters fight each other 10 times....they are completely healed/refreshed after every fight....you can even play around with the variables....i.e. cage, ring size, different amounts of rounds, and time limits....

I'm sure I'm leaving some things out...but you get the picture...that EVERYTHING would be considered...

The one that wins the majority of the 10 fights would literally be the better "Pound For Pound" MMA fighter....

Who do you think that man would be?

Yep...it would be Fedor Emelianenko.

Kind of my feelings as well, but I just can't quite pull the trigger...both are so damn good, that I just can't get myself to try and split that mythical, unknowable hair...

I would say Fedor, but Silva is a monster too.

Anderson has the best run of wins, but in terms of skill, Fedor is the best fighter on the planet. Just comparing talent, if they were to fight in a hypothetical situation where size and weight weren't a factor, Fedor would win.

You would be amazed at Fedor's striking, submission, takedown ability and defence. This is what some people here don't understand. I believe he would beat anyone as of now because of how well rounded and well skilled he is. Anyone who knows MMA would put him in their top 10 MMA fighters of all time.

Yet people insist I have a hatred for him when I don't. I recognize his previous achievements and what he has accomplished, along with his skill and where he stands in MMA. But my only concern is he wasn't fighting high ranked fighters until Sylvia which is why I don't consider him (AS OF YET) the number 1 P4P, and I give that honour to A.Silva based on recent performance, dominance in his division and current achievements along with consistently fighting the best and dominating while doing it.

If Fedor is to fight better opponents like he did with Sylvia then I'll re-consider but as of it, I can't give him the number one spot when his only real competition of late was Sylvia. Dominant and overall the greatest fighter Yes. But recent consistency with fighting top competition in the HW division- we are waiting to see... I am still awaiting the day for the biggest dream match-up probably in history next to W.Silva vs Liddell which would be Couture vs Emelianenko...
